Hundreds of people gathered in Orlando over the weekend for the Freedom March, an event featuring men and women who say Jesus delivered them from the LGBT lifestyle.

According to the Christian Post, the men and women call themselves “overcomers.”

More than 400 people marched at the event, shouting as they walked, “Freedom in Christ. It’s so nice” and “When I say Jesus, you say freedom.”

Churches and local ministries also set up booths and tents at the Lake Eola Park event to support the Freedom March.

The march was organized by Angel Colon and Luis Javier Ruiz, both men who survived the shooting at the Orlando nightclub, Pulse, in 2016. Since the shooting, both men abandoned homosexuality and started a ministry called Fearless Identity.

Fearless Identity helps churches as they try to share God’s word with the LGBT community.

“It’s not a gay to straight thing, it’s a lost to saved thing,” Ruiz said.

I think homosexuality is a lot like obesity. There's no scientific reason that compels anyone to be "gay" or fat. But, there's an astonishingly failure rate of obese people to lose weight, and keep it off. At least when a fat person regains his weight, no one says, "Ha! See, you were born fat. It's not a choice." A number of the people in this Freedom March will fall back into homosexuality. Some of them will embrace it and apologize for ever saying people can change.

Overcoming gluttony and homosexuality requires lifestyle changes, not will power. At least fat people have a lot of help to lose weight. People suffering from homosexual attraction have practically no help to change their attraction.

The article is absolutely right, this fight is about salvation, not overcoming homosexual attraction. It requires regeneration by the Holy Spirit, not willpower or even a lifestyle change to have victory over homosexuality. We must repent of this sin and be born again. That is the start and it will be a very real fight, but at the moment we give the fight to God, we have won the fight. We are justified by faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Now Sanctification is a different manner. . . That is where the real work must take place.
