A leaked video has emerged showing Sarsour going on an anti-Semitic rant

Anti-Israel activist Linda Sarsour said at the American Muslims for Palestine conference Friday that Israel is “built on the idea that Jews are supreme to everybody else.”
“How can you be against white supremacy in the United States of America and the idea of living in a supremacist state based on race and class, but then you support a state like Israel that is built on supremacy?” Sarsour said at the conference held Nov. 28-30 in Chicago.
This is a very, very common anti-Semitic trope. The idea that “white supremacy” and Jews are somehow linked, despite their history of persecution at the hands of real white supremacists. It’s a perverse viewpoint common in Islamic societies, which seek to paint the Jewish people as somehow responsible for the Holocaust. You can see an example of that here.
Israel was not “built on supremacy.” Jews are the historical inhibitors of the land and much of Israel was purchased legally. The expansion of the state has come from winning wars. Weirdly enough, when you attack Israel and try to destroy it, you don’t get to have your land back when it’s over. Further, Israel is the only free society in the Middle East. It is the only place in the region where race and class do not define one’s rights within the country.
Regardless, it’s not really surprising that Sarsour would say stuff like this. Anti-Semites are going to anti-Semite. The real problem here is the complete lack of curiosity by our mainstream media regarding her serving as a surrogate for Bernie Sanders. Try to imagine what the reaction would be if Richard Spencer served as a surrogate for the Donald Trump campaign. Do you think Trump might get questions about it? Not only would he be questioned about it, he’d be labeled a racist by association (and rightly so if you knowingly associate with Spencer). But Sanders can have someone like Sarsour out there stumping for him and The Washington Post, CNN, etc. simply don’t care.
