“And there arose another generation after them, which knew not the Lord.” I miss the old WW2 generation and believe the current generation is all about living in the flesh. Most churches have Sunday only services. Revival and quality Christian conference are incredibly rare these days.

7 And the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the Lord, that he did for Israel.
8 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being an hundred and ten years.
10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.

I met a lady who is in her fifties as well as I. This lady was Baptist, single, never married, and I thought we were the perfect fit... But the more that woman talked... Come to find out that she sees nothing wrong with the party or sex scene. I finally, after enduring much talk on carnality, said to her, "You know I don't believe you can do those things and get to heaven!” Almost immediately she replies, "Are you trying to threaten my salvation?"

To be threatened, actually has to be there in the first place!

In other words, you questioned her salvation based on her works? Fruit inspectors do tend to threaten other's status of salvation; usually according to their pet peeve sins... Good luck with finding that perfect woman.

That woman would end up loosing her job because of attendance issues. I looked her up on the internet, though I did not spend money, there was a note that she had bankruptcies, issues with the law, arrest records, and multiple addresses. What little we dated I noticed that her car was on its last leg. I have not seen her for years but fear the worse.

Sounds as if her life has been full of hardships. There may be a reason that she never married. Or perhaps, she's been taken advantage of and never met a man who was willing and able to help her turn her life around...

I worked with her uncle. Her uncle was a deacon of a Baptist church, fun, a friend, a good singer, etc. He used to sing, “What a Friend we have in Jesus” while we would work and it would be a blessing to listen to. But... He was terribly adulterous and a flirt. This seems all to be in the family trait, especially as they seem quickly bored with the family life.

Maybe they are from a Calvinist background and feel all these things are predestined and beyond their control? ;) As a matter of fact, reminds of a story about a friend I once had who was a very Calvinistic pastor. He’s no longer around though now. It seems he got caught up in an adulterous affair with the church secretary and this was going on for some time, although many were becoming suspicious. Finally, the suspicions spread and rumors reached his wife. When he got home that day he got into a huge fight with his wife and ended up hitting her so hard that she died. Later, after he had been found guilty and was about to be sentenced the judge paused to ask him, “What was going on in your mind when you found out you had killed had your wife?” Apparently, he said, “I was thinking WHEW, I’m glad that is over with!” I heard the judge threw away the key... I worked with a young man once years ago that would alternate between talking about church/religious things and hitting the clubs and the women he had bedded.

I confronted him about it, privately. He told me his pastor had informed him that God understood that when you are young you must sow your “wild oats” so that when you got married you would be faithful to your wife.

We had a long talk and I really do believe he knew what he was doing was wrong all along and needed someone to show him the truth of scripture.

Always speak the truth in love, even if when folks might not like to hear what you say.

    peace to you

that "pastor" advice was like when peter told Jesus that he would not face death...Answer to that pastor would have been the same "get thee behind me satan"

I have had people tell me that I needed to find a woman who has sewn her “wild oats.” And my return thoughts have been every time, “what do I need with wild oats?” I believe the seeds os such doings grow into destructive things.in the story of the prodigal son the rebellious son had to sew his wild oats far from home!

Um, I was a false Christian for 12 years. About four years ago I came to faith, and I was changed forever. Regeneration changes a person when the Holy Spirit indwells us. All fornicators and homosexuals who do so unrepently and die in their sins clearly never changed. They go to eternal condemnation. This is pretty straightforward in the bible.

There are tons of women who think after living a life sleeping around and having babies with other men, there should still be a beta-male willing to pick them up and marry them and their baggage.

I say it is better not to marry.
