I spent a total of 4 years in the Navy.

    Orlando Florida USA
    Pearl Harbor Hawaii USA

Every year around Veterans Day at the Post Office where I work, my Post Master honors all the Veterans with a certificate of thanks and when he comes to me, he jokingly says (I wasn't serving, I was surfing) since I spent 3 years in Hawaii. :Biggrin

For those who served in Germany, how did you like it there? I've had numerous conversations in the past with Veterans (particularly those who served in the Army) who absolutely loved Germany and said it was their favorite place to serve.

    4th Armored - that was a LONG-long time ago!
in May 1971, the 4th was re-flagged as the 1st Armored Division.

You must have been in those old WW II barracks. We were the first training flight in the new two-story barracks. We even had air conditioning. Now those barracks have been torn down.

I was often in those old WW II billets! But one advantage - in the Latrine- with six showerheads - I would turn all six on full hot water-- Mmmmmmmmm just like a sauna!
