Rod Blagojevich's Commutation

Says he is now a "Trumpocrat" - kind of catchy!

Injustice is injustice no matter what side one is on. With this move, Trump may have also won some hearts from the other side. As well as the Left's claim of partisanship in future commutations will not carry as much weight. I think it was a good move all around.

I agree that he should admit his quilt but I also have to consider that the people he was dealing with at the time would not have valued the truth or mercy in their judgment and instead would counted and abused any admission of quilt as another nail to attach him to the wall with. So, I can understand his not giving his enemy any weapons to try to justify their actions at this point.

I don’t remember a lot of details of the case but I do remember that at the time I was noticing a lot of unfair treatment, twisting of the facts and media coverage that definitely was out to get him. I did not think his hands were perfectly clean but I was kind of shocked at the power and methods of the forces against him and for me to feel sympathy for a democrat is saying something.

When I hear his argument against the prosecutors using their power for political motives, I think he makes an important valid point. We’ve recently seen the depth of these kinds of attempts, tactics, against Trump and I strongly believe there are far too many prosecuting attorneys that are corruptly using their power to sway and control the actions of our elected officials.

I have the feeling that Rod Blagojevich's voice has not been silenced on this issue and am looking forward to hear more of his arguments about the damage these corrupt prosecutors are inflicting upon of our constitutional judicial system.

 

But the problem I see is, how do you prosecute the corrupt prosecutors that are becoming experts at inventing crimes to suit their political purposes?
