Why does India matter with regard to Trump?

 

It is about the same percentage of the population as he draws here. And remember, the Dems would point out he lost the popular vote.

 

India is a huge deal for Trump.

 

India is almost the same population as China. India is not Communist. India and China are natural rivals. Modi has emerged as a strong leader who has changed the status quo in Kashmir. Contrary to the interests of China and Pakistan. Modi has been open to relationship with Netanyahu and Trump.

 

Not to detract from your splendid post but Russia is left out in the cold also. India fought with the allies in WW II, as in Burma, for example.

 

Trump was a big hit in India! Melania was dressed beautifully as always! It looked like a nice party for everyone. It made a stark contrast with the Canadians who visited India not too long ago and dressed in Bollywood costume to the laughter of a billion people in India alone. India is vital to our security interests as a lot of jihadi psychopaths are attacking us from Isis groups in the orient. India when I was young leaned towards the Soviet Union and it is wonderful to see India lean towards the USA.

 

A market and possible manufacturing trade partner that could help ease our trade issues with China. The development of our trade relationship with India, could/should help us deal with some of the predatory trade practices of the Chinese government.
I would rather trade with a friend than an enemy. I would also rather help build India's economy than China's.

also would be nice to get some business in india, as in bibles and the Gospel thru printed word and over radio/tv!

 

I guess my point is I do not see any significance to these events with regard to the election of Trump and American politics overall.

 

think opening up their market to American companies and business will allow our economy future growth, and take pressure of us needing China as trade partner so much!

 

Which has nothing to do with the 100,000 attending a rally. 100,000 people in India is not even one half of one percent.

 

Hillary did not do so well in India. Neither did Trudeau despite his dancing around in Bollywood costumes.

But Trump made it fun for everyone and Melania was more graceful than Hillary or Mrs. Trudeau. Hillary fell down a couple of times fueling speculation about her health. Was she too ill to travel? Mrs. Trudeau abandoned western fashion for Bollywood clothing while the Indian government representatives were wearing American suits and ties. Trudeau was only greeted by lower ranking officials and alienated India by having a terrorist in his entourage.

Trump represented what is best about America!

Another thing in Trump's favor is his victories against Islam, which murdered 80 million Hindus in India.

 

100,000 at a rally, filling the largest stadium in India, kind-off gives the lie to the reports that Trump is seen as a buffoon and laughing stock everywhere around the world.
Most reports in the MSM have everyone hating him everywhere. Even if it was a staged rally, it is still impressive. India sees good relations with America and Trump as America's President as very important. The fact that they rolled out the Red, Whit and Blue carpet shows Trump gets more respect than previously reported.
