The majority of Americans probably don't use the word.
The word 'regardless' appears once in the NIV, 'irregardless' doesn't occur at all. I doubt any translation has it.

The 'NIV culture' is a figment of your Y-1 mindset.

Still do not see this new virus as being doomsday virus, as many more have died from common flu still!

    1918 INFLUENZA PANDEMIC

"500 million people were estimated to have been infected by the 1918 H1N1 flu virus. At least 50 million people were killed around the world including an estimated 675,000 Americans. In fact, the 1918 pandemic actually caused the average life expectancy in the United States to drop by about 12 years for both men and women."

The 1918 Flu Pandemic: Why It Matters 100 Years Later | | Blogs | CDC

The 1918 Flu killed approximately 5% of the worlds population.

The outcome of the pestilence of the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse (Revelation Chapter 6) 25% of humanity will perish,

By the way, I never claimed "the majority of Americans" use the word.

And I never claimed that the NIV (or any other translation, for that matter) used the word at all.

Just to set the record straight (and to avoid having "words put in my mouth").

Devastating statistics for flu - in 1918 & continuously since. We get vaccinated every year, also against pneumonia. It doesn't seem to worry us - until we get it.

Regarding Rev. 6, The emphasis in the opening chapter is that the events are -
"...things which must shortly take place ...... for the time is near."
Also John is reminded of Jesus' Olivet prophecy concerning the destruction of Jerusalem & the temple in AD 70 -
"7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen."
Tribes of the earth is Gk "ge" which is variously translated as land, earth, even soil. All the tribes of the land of Israel did indeed mourn at the destruction.

In Rev. 6, "A fourth of the earth" - "earth" is Gk ge which is variously translated as land, earth, even soil - τέταρτον τῆς γῆς. In a first century context it logically refers to the land of Israel and the massive slaughter that took place.

When Jesus returns at the end of the present Gospel age for resurrection & judgment, the slaughter of the wicked will be far greater than 25%.

There is so much fear & concern about world events, as well as the promotion of abortion & sexual deviation. We should be praying for repentance & for the Lord to raise up Gospel preachers who call for repentance.

The Book of Revelation defines "the earth" from the beginning of the Book of Revelation itself.

Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Also the Koine prepositional phrase grammar supports the "earth" as the planet earth epi tas guas rather than en tas guas (in the land).

This prophecy is IMO in the end time futuristic Tribulation and only one aspect of the destruction thereof.

All eyes will see Jesus return.
Israel is the Israel of God, the elect, the people of the promise. Israel is not a genetic lineage to Jacob.
The Kingdom of God will be established. No more little area for Israel. Instead, all the earth and the entire universe is the Kingdom of God.

That's nice. I didn't claim that you did Alex.
Good. I didn't claim that you did.

You seem to be suffering from the same 'disease' as your pal Y-1. Reading comprehension seems to be on the wane for non-NIV users. LOL
