Trump deems churches 'essential,' calls for them to reopen

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Friday that he has deemed churches and other houses of worship “essential” and called on governors across the country to allow them to reopen this weekend despite the threat of spreading the coronavirus.

“Today I’m identifying houses of worship — churches, synagogues and mosques — as essential places that provide essential services,” Trump said during a hastily arranged press conference at the White House, where he didn’t take questions. He said if governors don’t abide by his request, he will “override” them...

I for one sorta like the fact that certain churches remained closed, and perhaps they will remain that way. Who knows? Some churches obeyed God any ways, not the government. Sounds like Trump is grasping at ecumenical straws.

We need to support this idea of freedom of religion though.
Even if you have false believers in false religions.
We dont want the true dragged down with the false. And we do not want government interference coming into the church, we do not want this current evil age telling the church what it can do , say, how it can worship, what beliefs are good or bad.

Virginia democrats have passed laws saying it is illegal for churches and private schools to discriminate in hiring LGBTQ persons. I expect some of them to push this and try to force lawsuits against maybe even churches. Can we just unincorporate churches to prevent abuse of the church and their beliefs? Otherwise, Virginia needs to elect republicans and reverse these new laws, and that takes a change of heart of the electorate, or perhaps a supreme court verdict..

If that's your decision as a church, well and good. The government can just butt out, as the 1st Amendment requires.

Trump also said that if Liquor Stores and Planned Parenthood are essential - then so are churches! and if the Governors don't do so - - Trump will!

Master stroke by the President. Governors are kicking themselves right now. They could have been the heroes, but punted. Now Trump's the hero.

Indeed the abortuary altars of innocent blood were allowed to continue on with their sacrifices while the church doors were slammed shut.

Psalm 106:37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,

Resumption of the Baal Worshippers. Sounds like a sick movie title but it's sadly reality. There are a multitude of Jezebels and Athaliahs these days.

It doesn't get much worse than murdering your own grandsons like Athaliah did. Just so she could sit usurp the throne of David.

Wonder if our founders would have sen Liquor stores and abortion mills as being essentials, while churches would not be?

    Great Questions! (honestly)

    Religion is man seeking God

Christianity is Christ seeking man - I stand at the door and knock
Christianity is the only "religion" where the leader died and rose again
Christianity is the only "religion" that assures us of eternal live with God
