Banks Ablaze, Stores Looted Amid Unrest in La Mesa

 

Now let me clarify why?... I was born in La Mesa, California in 1946... We lived there for two years and then we moved to outskirts of San Diego, to a place called Paradise Hills... That is where I grew up but we always went to visit my Grandparents on my Mothers side, who lived in La Mesa.

After doing my military service in the Marines, in Vietnam, I married and after moving around various parts of San Diego, when our first child was born, a daughter, we settled in La Mesa and we were there for 20 years... With our children as we now had a son, went to schools in the area... La Mesa was my stomping ground... I knew the city and the people in it... To see the city trashed that you spent a lot of your life in cuts you to bone.

But I have a solution for those who want to trash, burn and loot at will... No incarceration, that is to easy... See most of the people that do this are on public relief... Welfare, food stamp, medicare, ect... Hit them where it hurts... We catch you looting and trashing and burning property... Then you will work and restore what you destroyed... You don't, then we will remove you from the dole... I was quite upset see the chaos that ensued in the city I knew so well on National TV and shall never forget it, even though I'm 500 miles away up North in Sacramento... So now you know...
