The last time I shared a military video I received so much heat including being labeled a commie. I don't mind as hominems as they are a product of small minds and irrational anger.

    Here's another one

I will only engage those who watch and give solid rebuttals. Why should I feed trolls?

The video is only 8 minutes short:

We are in a cold war with China and it may heat up to a conventional war between China and our allies. Trump has been trying to rebuild our Navy but the Democrats have not been helpful. Obama left the military out of ammunition. We also face threats from Islam and Russia.

Thank your fellow Democrats for this. Gutting our military and making China rich from trade.

As a professional in the field of national security, thank you. That's a good video. Covert Cabal does good videos.

China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran are increasingly straight up enemies of the US and it's allies.

Defeating them in a war with the fewest casualties is a subject close to my heart. I work hard in my field on behalf of the troops by specializing in wars with those four powers.

The key issue now is building the size of our fleet. 355 ships is likely still too small. The Cold War saw something like 450 ships. This time period we are in is equally dangerous IMO.

Getting that through Congress will be difficult. Dems foolishly don't want more military spending. Reps are tepidly pursuing funding for the military. The President's budgets aren't pushing hard enough for more funding, which must change.

Thank you! Curiously, all 4 of those are operating in Central America and South America although North Korea is mostly connected to Cuba I think. They are operating together in Venezuela in connection with the alliance of Cuba, Nicaragua, Bolivia, and Ecuador with Argentina involved especially with Iran. China wanted to build a railroad from Peru to Brazil to transport soy beans but it was an idiotic idea because there is not even a highway through the Amazon basin. Also, China wanted to build another canal through Nicaragua no matter what the environmental cost. Looking forward to more info from you on our foreign enemies as we stand somewhat alone since Europe is so weak. Do you use the term Red-Green alliance?

Red-Green alliance was only coined in 1994. I had not heard it before. You hit the most worrying part of China's rise, economic alliances. Although, diplomacy is my weak point for now, so I can't comment further on the other three powers.

I'm more military studies: the military capabilities of the US, the military capabilities of the four powers I mentioned, military tactics, military operations, military strategy, military history, and military technologies. Ask me about those subjects and I'd be obliged to answer.

Our allies are indeed weak militarily in relation to the four near-peer powers I mentioned. That is except for South Korea and Japan. Against Russia, Iran, or China expect the US to do most of the heavy lifting. Expect US forces to still play an important role against North Korea.

Laser weapons are being developed to take out hypersonic missiles. Not much room for error, I wonder how accurate the targeting computers are on those missiles.

I wonder on guidance too. Hard part will be having targeting data good enough to go through a kill chain at the extreme ranges involved with cruise, ballistic, or hypersonic missiles. Of course AI development will mitigate this since missiles can "think on the fly" to look for and target ships in a general location.

As for shooting down hypersonic missiles, we aren't able to shoot them down yet, which is massive. Our aircaft carriers are vulnerable, the answer for now is operating hundreds of miles out to sea to avoid detection and targetting, while being too far out to be in range for most missiles. This reduces sortie throughput though.

Hypersonic missiles are hard to track since they fly so fast, plasma forms on the exterior surfaces, messing with radar. If they sea skim you will have less than 30 seconds to react too. Sea skimming cruise missiles give two minutes or less to react currently, by comparison. The main foe has been swarms of high flying supersonic missiles till now, a very different threat.

Mach 5 plus missiles are going to heat up their skin going over 600 *F and they are going to steadily erode themselves away as they speed along, makes me think long ranges for them is not going to be very good. Consider also manuverability at speed, that has got to be tough, meaning they may just mostly beeline to the target, so plus 1 for laser tracking for laser to be used against them. The fact they must be designed to bear this heat and an energy beam is using heat to destroy them, minus 1 for the laser.
And then how about fog or even rain, atmospherics is another negative for lasers too. Rain drops have more mass than dry air. My thinking use multiple targeting lasers against a missile to heighten the effect, converging the beam, so defending against them may involve multiple ships or planes firing lasers simultaneously

Unfortunately, the kind of high temperature materials used today for things like an f22's engine allow hypersonic missiles potentially ranges in excess of Tomahawk missiles. They are also very maneuverable when they approach a ship, using AI to evade defenses, because the materials they are made of are high-tech.

I do like the idea of converging multiple lasers. Problem is you'll need multiple ships since lasers use up a lot of energy and the only ship designed for multiple directed-energy weapons are the Zumwalts.

I think electronic warfare, decoys, chaff, and flares are able to be used currently. Things big ships have. So, I shouldnt say no defense. An interceptor missile is in development. Lasers of higher energy output, equal to multiple converged beams, are in development. Something called High Power Radio Frequency weapons, HPRF, are a kind of directed EMP are in development too.

Something to think about, hyper-sonic missiles are moving faster than a bullet. That is fast, a lot has to happen super fast for a missile to evade countermeasures and think its way thru them using AI on its way to its target. A laser is of course much faster. Hard to imagine the software coding can keep up, I know how slow my pc is and any AI must be very much more sophisticated, but It seems to me they must still be very primitive or such AI would be a dud..

Let's get this back on the OP.

What can the US do to fix this Problem of a rising China? Seems to me increase military spending. What can we do as voters to get this done? Vote for those that want higher military spending in primaries and general elections.

There is no solution by force of arms that you can bear against China, this is a spiritual battle, the battle belong to the Lord and it is to Him that belongs the kingdoms of the earth..We are just sojourners in a strange land on our way to our real eternal home.

While we are pilgrims and not of this world, but we are told to be wise and discerning in all we do. Victory belongs to God, but in a Gentile nation that forsakes the LORD, we should pray and fight the best way we can.

Thank you. China in Latin America is propping up states hostile to the USA. Weapons have been intercepted by Colombia in shipments involving North Korea. China has grandiose schemes such as a canal through Nicaragua but has never had the money to build much except a lot of "coming soon" displays. I think that you are correct that there is little Chinese military in Latin America. There is Russian military in Venezuela and Cuba. Cuban military consists of some very elite forces. Now however, Iranian forces have been sent to Venezuela.

Laser tech is still in its infancy and appears to be severely limited by laws of science

we could also avoid unnecessary military misadventures. They burn a hole in the national budget, bring back heroes in body bags, and have the military industrial complex laughing all the way to the bank.

I know talking of war means politics. Many look at wars in the shades of their favorite political corners. I don’t wish to get into that but you and I know there are some expensive military action that yielded nothing.
