Longtime Sacramento Kings TV broadcaster Grant Napear resigned after he tweeted "All Lives Matter"

There is not a doubt in my military mind that if Napear had not resigned - he would have been fired.

What a sad state of affairs this country is in.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone were forced to resign for tweeting "All Black Lives Matter." These people are beyond reason, bent on an evil course, using a false narrative, and many are shamefully caving to their influence. A sad state indeed.

I think you are missing the direction of the narrative. That was part of what Candace Owens was talking about in a link in another thread. To them, all black lives don't matter. The crimes and murders blacks commit against blacks, the abortions they have, etc. If you cite those, you will find out just how unPC you are being.

Anyone prominent enough who tries to intentionally add "All" to "Black Lives Matter" will find they have run afoul of the narrative and suffer their merciless wrath.

Yep. No more free speech if you don't toe the line of what they want you to say.

Free speech guaranteed by the First Amendment means the US government cannot punish you for saying something.

Grant Napear's employer, the Sacramento Kings, can fire him for for saying something.

I wish people would learn the difference.

For example Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Baptist Board, My Space, etc. etc. can remove your account and pull your posts if they so choose. This is not violating free speech.

    Agreed.

I understand that, so the person speaking needs to take that into account before opening their mouth. So for him the employer did not see to transfer the concept of one freely speaking into their business. People do not have the freedom to say what they want, so no more free speech in that context. This is why I wished the NFL had said that their players keep their political statements for off the field lest they lose money because fans who do not agree with what a particular player is doing stop buying the product.

The problem I see with these entities, (especially Twitter and Facebook since they are so big), is that they have become the nation's de-facto town square where opinions should be able to be freely shouted with no consequence. The have in essence become publishers, not the platforms they now claim to be and by the way receive a special exemption from the government. They are either one or the other, they can't be both.

Granted an employer can fire you for most anything - except for protected classes ( and that is getting longer every day) BUT to fire him for saying "ALL LIVES MATTER" is nothing more than bowing to the PC Crowd.

But Kneeling during our beloved National Athem is acceptable.

And I would think that vast majority of these protesters do not care about the life of the unborn

What a mess up world we live in.

Black lives matter, yet no one else has value? Only black people? Wow. Imagine the vulgar expletives that want to evacuate my mouth upon hearing that....

Black Lives Matter never said "only black lives matter."

They say black lives matter because they are trying to highlight that particular issue. It's not rocket surgery.
