Mask up, Mobile: City requiring face coverings

The new requirement goes into effect on Friday, July 3. Fine for first offense will be 50 bucks, 100 dollars for 2nd offenses and up.

I have a number of thoughts on this, one being that Mobile has lost lots of tourist dollars on account of covid-19, and maybe the city can persue fines against violators to make up for lost revenue. A second thought is that the mask policy can in some way be used to control protestors, just as school uniform policies were used and enforced on account of the preference which some students had for fastening their pants below their butts. Everyone had to suffer because of the few.


That moron was gassing up at the pump ahead of me, and I took liberty to photograph him through my windshield. He appeared to be in his 30s, old enough to know right from wrong.
