Have you seen the comet?

Comet Neowise is visible in the sky now.

Many years ago my daughter and I delivered newspapers in our neighborhood in the wee hours of the morning.
I’m an early riser and enjoy taking an early morning walk, usually gazing into the sky, we were one of the first to observe the Comet Hale-Bopp, well before it was a news item.

The famous Halleys Comet was a bust this time around the sun but you’ll be able to see Neowise in the early morning and evening hours.

As a bonus look for the brightest star in the sky at night and you will be seeing Jupiter in opposition.

For the next few days it will be visible about an hour before sunrise, close to the horizon in the northeastern sky in the United States. Observers might be able to see the comet's central core, or nucleus, with the naked eye in dark skies; using binoculars will give viewers a good look at the fuzzy comet and its long, streaky tail. As it speeds away from the Sun, Comet NEOWISE will begin to make its appearance in the evening sky shortly after sunset on July 11 or July 12, depending on local conditions.

 

It’s been too cloudy these past few days for viewing but this morning - clear skies, I can see the stars.

I will have to get in my car, too many trees around my neighborhood, I can’t see the horizon.

Still too hazy to see it, only the bright stars are visible.
But Venus and Mars were quite clear.
