So, here's an informative video, a little over 17 minutes long:

It goes into how our laws over the years have impacted the black community and effectively kept them in poverty by keeping a good many of them from living in certain neighborhoods or accessing good jobs. The video isn't from a liberal source, in fact it's by a name you're likely familiar with: Phil Vischer, the creator of Veggie Tales.

I will also add, that when you have a system in place that discriminates against a race, it doesn't matter if there are no racist people left--if the same system is still in place, then there's still work to be done.

What a bunch of garbage. Racism is the excuse but its not the goal. Ending capitalism is the goal. Anyone who thinks otherwise is naive or brainwashed.

I'm aware that the actual BLM organization itself is Marxist (not necessarily the BLM political movement), but capitalism is not inherently racist and is not what the video is referring to. If you think that, you either didn't watch it or made gross assumptions.

Most of the things that have happened in our nation that was shown in that video is a result of liberalism and/or Democrat policies over the years. Who made it difficult for black people to "get ahead" because they destroyed the black family unit for instance? Democrat/liberal policies.

I suspect both parties had a hand, but either way: irrelevant
You want to crap on liberals and democrats any chance you can, I get it, but regardless of who, the problem still exists.

It isn’t just about who but about what they are doing, which was explicitly stated in the post. The policies and propaganda which the Progressive Leftist Dems are pushing are what undermine success in these areas. To use your own term, they are the ones “crap[ping] on" us, on society, on the country with their policies and propaganda. It’s indefensible.

Did you actually watch the video? Both Dems and Repubs contributed to laws that held the black community back

Yep. There is no excuse for the way Reps cave to Dem demands. The video asks that you care. But the propaganda, practices, and policies being pushed now have an openly Marxist agenda and have nothing to do with combating any racism, rather they are trying to undermine both society and government. Defund Police. Disarm Citizens. Open Borders. Eradicate History. Green New Deal. They don't care, especially not about blacks. They want to destroy America.

This may be the best thing that "Larry the Cucumber" has produced.

There are folks here who are stuck in their ideology so that no common sense will ever move them. To them you must tip the hat and let it go. They would rather destroy the nation than move off from the hill on which they will die.

Actually, I was annoyed by the Veggie Guy - too pedantic, condescending and simplistic. He confuses the term "institutionalized racism" with historic racism, talks about the racist policy of redlining but never mentions the fallout from the Great Society.

His solution to poor inner city schools? Throw MORE money at them, like that's worked in DC, Baltimore, KC and on and on. Maybe school choice could help solve the inequities, just maybe? Meh, forget it, Ben Shapiro did a MUCH better job at the analysis of Veggie:

without the childish graphics and the preachy tone of Veggie.

You just don't want to admit that racist conservative politicians have existed, do you. Whatever makes you feel best, I guess. Like, I'm not one to pull the "all right wingers are racist" BS (because that is BS), but seriously. You lose nothing by having a smidge of honesty with yourself now and again.

You can believe that systematic racism exists without supporting those things, you know that right?

Go watch the Shapiro video (post #52) and give us your analysis. Then we can talk further.

I'll decline. I'll watch the video when I have the time, but I'm not terribly interested in "talking further". If you aren't convinced at this point, I doubt anything I have to say will convince you. I get the feeling your heart is simply closed to any other viewpoints. Thus, the only thing to gain from debate would be intellectually, if that, and I don't feel like going through the hassle.

Now that's rich. You're the one who won't watch a video that might conflict with your closed mind. I watched yours—it was incomplete and focused on the past.

I'm old enough to know that prejudice of all kinds abounds, and that systemic racism is a relic at this point and has been for a long time. The racism is now reversed, the pendulum now swings the other way.

Open your eyes for a change. By far, the biggest problem blacks face is the constant fount of lies from those they trust that they cannot achieve in this society.

Um, did you miss the part where I POINT BLANK said I would watch the video????? I only said I wouldn't debate you on it. Stop lying to make yourself look better.

Maybe it wasn’t clear enough for you. The point is that you are judgmentally criticizing without even bothering to look into it further first. That's no lie. IMO, that makes you look bad, not me good or better. You can see it however you want.

I said nothing about the video except that I would watch it later, nor did I judge the video in any sense. My only commentary was about YOU. All I essentially said was that I don't think further discussion will be fruitful. You're making a mountain out of a molehill. We're done talking, though. Believe what you like about me,I clearly can't change your mind.

LOL. It seems you got my point, but have yet to realize it was my point. You want to be judgmental but don’t seem to think you’re being judgmental. Actually, a better term for it would be prejudiced. Your reasoning is flawed, but you're right in thinking that your ignorance will likely make little or no headway. That should be unsurprising. Still, I’ve enjoyed this little chat.
