I am wondering if the news media will be publishing the daily case numbers and deaths from the flu this winter. In a normal year there are around 36,000,000 cases of flu in just a few months time and 36,000 deaths. Will they report these the same way they are COVID-19 numbers? Should they?

Is not covid19 the flu to end all flu? Or do we get an upgrade to covid20, just to cover all those who escaped covid19?

Do you think that Xi Jinping and his mad doctor Shi Zhengli cooked up this communist party virus in the Wuhan Institute of Virology and released it on purpose as a biological warfare attack on the world with another virus attack on the way?

    Not a chance.

No. They will continue the fear mongering on Covid right up to Nov. 3.

After that you won't see either, unless Trump is re-elected. But Congress and the media will be wrapped up in the next phony impeachment if that happens. So Covid will most likely just fade away, at least for awhile.

I'm curious if we're seeing a significant drop in flu cases. If masks and distancing really work, we should see a decline in all communal diseases.

Yeah, I could see a scenario where the authorities tell us that since something is always going around that you people are going to need to wear a mask from now on in public. :(

But are flu cases down? If so, we can at least assume masks and distancing work. If flu cases do not drop, we need to rethink things.

It’s not flu season. One can get the flu anytime but the flu season is around November through April.

And are off-season cases down? I would think with distancing, they'd be significantly down.

Is it any surprise that the media is not saying anything about this?

When you remain silent, you have spoken

Makes you wonder. You'd think if the flu was greatly suppress this info would be readily available. Being how much less contagious the flu is, you'd think it would be just about dead at this point.

If you can tell the flu cases from covid. Some of the numbers for covid may include flu even if they didn’t confirm with actual covid test.

The Centers for Disease Control and Protection (CDC) tracks disease (surprise). So the information is available.
Whether the data is communicated to the public is primarily related its newsworthiness.
Currently such information is distributed with the intent to mold a particular political agenda .

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) tracks influenza activity through key indicators such as the percentage of influenza-like illness, visits to outpatient clinics, the rates of influenza-associated hospitalizations, and the percentage of deaths resulting from pneumonia or influenza.
Beginning with the 2016–2017 influenza season the CDC adopted the NCHS Mortality Surveillance System, which collects death certificate data from state vital statistics offices for virtually all deaths occurring in the United States. Pneumonia and influenza deaths are identified based on International Classification of Disease, Tenth Revision, codes for underlying and contributing causes of death.
Systematic Assessment of Multiple Routine and Near Real-Time Indicators to Classify the Severity of Influenza Seasons and Pandemics in the United States, 2003–2004 Through 2015–2016
There is so much misinformation blathered about in the news which is thickly spread here on the BaptistBoard by those that ignorantly disregard the statistical data probably because they don’t understand how science works.

It’s easy to quickly form an opinion based upon incomplete information and never change.
It is a discipline to gather data, understand what it means, and adjust your conclusions, sometimes even changing your initial understanding to fit the new information.

    (This works with theology too!)

What you're spreading is self-righteous sanctimony. You don't even engage. Just sit back and take potshots. Not helpful.

No, I think you're talking about the entire board, just as you said you were. All that's really happening is, you're caught up in your own opinions. Engage specifically, and see what happens. You may even change some of your own opinions.
