    ‘ Southern Baptist leaders Russell Moore and Ronnie Floyd commended President Trump’s nomination Saturday (Sept. 26) of Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court.

    ...

    “There is no question that Judge Barrett is qualified by intellectual acumen and years of experience to serve on the highest court in the land,” said Moore, president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC).

    ...

    Floyd, president of the Executive Committee, described Barrett as “one of the most gifted legal minds in America today.” ‘

    Actually, you have a point about Russell Moore, who actually said the following:

    The other day, on a panel for CEOs of Christian ministries, someone asked about the phrase “black lives matter,” and why the phrase itself seems less polarizing than it did just a few years ago, after Ferguson, when the culture war seemed to be summed up in the phrases “black lives matter” versus “all lives matter.”

    There are a number of factors here. The biggest, of course, is the fact that the language was a mirror of the problem. As many have pointed out, “all lives matter” was often not about broadening the conversation but changing the subject. Underneath that, though, some other people—not in the “all lives matter” polemics category—were confused about whether “black lives matter,” as a phrase, meant that they agreed, in totality, with whatever was or might be advocated by the organization by that name. Now, though, it is clear that “black lives matter” is much bigger than one organization, and that the phrase points to a much larger moral claim. After the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, Breona Taylor, and others, that moral claim is a long time coming in being heard.

    Here is a remark from Floyd:

    "The racism that plays in our culture today is inextricably tied to the past, and continues to disproportionately impact the African American community," he said. "In many of our cities this past weekend, there were peaceful protests of citizens expressing their freedom of speech. Unfortunately, those peaceful protests have been drowned out by the actions of the few wanting to incite destruction. Consequently, violence has erupted, resulting primarily in the loss of more human lives, but also secondarily damage to properties at an already very (tough) economic moment in America."

    At that age my son could clock it 125 yards with a Taylor Made driver. Like everything in life it comes down to balance which is in 3 steps

    I have not studied why black NJ citizens chose muted rallies without violence ... oh perhaps a flat tire or two. Come to think of it, maybe a written thesis is in order... sociologist degree. I have time for that now.

    You mean white people, mired in America's systemic racism believe black lives do not matter?

    Is that the belief on all those wearing BLM "t" shirts?

    Tell me again why the same people who suppressed black voting put up monuments or memorials to the Confederacy.

    Regarding that article about covid being the judgement of God.

    11 God is a just judge,
    And God is angry with the wicked every day.
    12 If he does not turn back,
    He will sharpen His sword;
    He bends His bow and makes it ready.

    Also Psalm 73

    1 Truly God is good to Israel,
    To such as are pure in heart.
    2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled;
    My steps had nearly slipped.
    3 For I was envious of the boastful,
    When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
    4 For there are no [a]pangs in their death,
    But their strength is firm.
    5 They are not in trouble as other men,
    Nor are they plagued like other men.
    6 Therefore pride serves as their necklace;
    Violence covers them like a garment.
    7 Their eyes bulge with abundance;
    They have more than heart could wish.
    8 They scoff and speak wickedly concerning oppression;
    They speak loftily.
    9 They set their mouth against the heavens,
    And their tongue walks through the earth.
    10 Therefore his people return here,
    And waters of a full cup are drained by them.
    11 And they say, “How does God know?
    And is there knowledge in the Most High?”
    12 Behold, these are the ungodly,
    Who are always at ease;
    They increase in riches.
    13 Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain,
    And washed my hands in innocence.
    14 For all day long I have been plagued,
    And chastened every morning.
    15 If I had said, “I will speak thus,”
    Behold, I would have been untrue to the generation of Your children.
    16 When I thought how to understand this,
    It was too painful for me—

    17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God;
    Then I understood their end.
    18 Surely You set them in slippery places;
    You cast them down to destruction.
    19 Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment!
    They are utterly consumed with terrors.

    20 As a dream when one awakes,
    So, Lord, when You awake,
    You shall despise their image.
    21 Thus my heart was grieved,
    And I was vexed in my mind.
    22 I was so foolish and ignorant;
    I was like a beast before You.
    23 Nevertheless I am continually with You;
    You hold me by my right hand.
    24 You will guide me with Your counsel,
    And afterward receive me to glory.
    25 Whom have I in heaven but You?
    And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.
    26 My flesh and my heart fail;
    But God is the [g]strength of my heart and my portion forever.
    27 For indeed, those who are far from You shall perish;
    You have destroyed all those who [h]desert You for harlotry.
    28 But it is good for me to draw near to God;
    I have put my trust in the Lord God,
    That I may declare all Your works.

    Russell Moore irks me. I think that he is glib. China is responsible for the virus but they are so viscous that they don't care.
