    Mimics what happened in other places under socialism. Some are better, some worse, but it's all bad.

    If only there were Christian Democrats to fight for Scandinavian Socialism in the Democratic Party ... but we all know that no Christian could EVER be a Democrat. Right? :rolleyes:

    Which one attempted to institute a Venezuelan type dictatorship, abolish “free speech” and convert the economy from capitalism to communism?

    The rhetoric is turning discussions into echo chambers by shouting down and demonizing all opposition. While I do not agree with the proposed Democrat MEANS (larger and more obtrusive government), I cannot argue that imprisoning rape victims to prevent them from harming unborn children is exactly how Jesus would have handled the problem. Nor can I agree that affordable healthcare is a policy that is directly from the mouth of satan. So I stand with neither those that want “abortion on demand” nor with those that scream that “anyone that voted for a Democrat is not a Christian”.

    An unlikely source once said that in every sport there are three teams on the field. The HOME team, the VISITING team and the REFEREES. The Home team and their fans cheer only for the Home team, and the Visiting team and their fans cheer only for the Visiting team. The Referees are free to move in an among either team and both teams because their allegiance is to something greater than the Home Team or the Visiting Team. The Referees have sworn to uphold the sanctity of the GAME. They side with the cause of what is RIGHT and what is JUST and what is TRUE. Christians are not called to the Republican or the Democrat TEAMS, we are called to the side of GOD ... the Referee that pursues what is RIGHT and JUST and TRUE wherever it is found, and who are free to pass among either or both teams as GOD and our DUTY calls us.

    So I choose to defend the cause of truth against hyperbole.
    I choose to defend my Liberal Christian brothers and sisters, with whom I disagree on details, against slander by other members of the body that seek to bite and devour them.

    If they are socialists, then they will seek to devour the church, just like the devil does as they become allied with the devil's people.
    For example about opponents, socialists are opponents of the church historically and today,

    these are strong words from scripture, these opponents are in the church, but they are frauds (false brethren) that need to repent or they are not saved. Saved christians do the will of God, not the will of the devil. Paul and Peter and Christ talked about fierce wolves, and false teachers that are among the church but not of the church and the tear up and ravage the sheep. Two of the fruits of the flesh are contentions and dissensions, people who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of
    God.

    24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

    Scripture
    Galatians 5
    19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, [c]murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

    Now lets say your holding a contention and causing a dissention in the church, and your view is in error and your wrong, then your an opponent of the church and Holy Spirit and allied with the devil.

    God will be the judge of it, and only God can grant you repentance, because your caught in a snare and practicing the fruits of the flesh, like shown in that list. Likely other bad fruits you will also start showing too.
