We have had about 1/2 inch this season - just another 199.5 to go for a good snow season

Warm here today near Philly. I did a final mowing of the yard to mulch-in the last leaves falling from my Norway Maple and then cleaned the gutters.

Generally snows on the week that the Global Warming Conference in D.C. happens.

You have 200 inches a year, really? Or just a little joke? You must be close to Canadian border.

I like snow, my wife loves the sun.

Ill probably end up in Florida again at some point.

    peace to you

Most days still reach a high of 60 here, even though the nights sometimes go below freezing. Snow can happen, but entire winters go without any snow. We have had no rain for over 200 days, so I am not planning on any precipitation falling from the sky, rain or snow.

I need to go make a water run. Thankfully it is over 60, because I have learned there is something worse than lugging water through a hot desert, and that is drawing and lugging water through a cold desert, especially if your hands and clothes got wet while drawing the water.

I have drawn water when the temperature was just above freezing and walked home wet. It was unpleasant. I did not like it. But I cried the whole way home out of THANKFULNESS that I do have running water at home that is fit for cleaning and washing and a small water heater that can heat about 5 gallons of water at a time. There are entire towns and reservations in the American deserts that have no running water at all. None. I hope I never have to face that. I am spoiled and soft.

If you spell snow... The middle of the word is no!... Leaving two letters the s and the w... Which to me being from Southern California means Sunny Weather... NO!... I don't like snow... Only the kind where Jesus has washed me whiter than snow... Brother Glen:)

I knew a guy that lived in Minnesota. He talked about how the snow just didn’t melt much all winter and just kept accumulating. It would “pack” but didn’t melt much.

Sounds like you have to deal with that as well

    peace to you

I read your link. It said the area is near Lake Ontario. You must get that “lake effect” snow, plus being at a higher election.

When I was in the Army, we did training in upstate NY (Fort Drum?). I was expecting a big city. I was amazed at the mountains and forests.

    It was beautiful.

    peace to you

Yes, we do get a lot of the Lake effect snow

Then about once a decade - we get a good blizzard - some 30-50 inches of snow in a day or two.

The big one was in 1966, Syracuse got about 40 inches, Oswego got about 100 inches

We got about two feet once in the late 70’s. The whole area was shut down about two weeks.

    peace to you

I got some snow in the Arizona desert one time. It was on 12/6/1998 and I recorded it in case no one believed it. It actually covered the ground and I'd say it was a good 1/2" thick!! When I tell people they are like, nah, it was probably hail, but I'm like, no, it was big white flakes, I'm pretty sure this is what snow looks like and it actually turned the ground white! Here's the proof, we built a desert snowman:

Oh I remember pulling shirt sleeves down to make snow balls because I didn’t have gloves. I bet those kids will never forget that.

    peace to you
