“Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” ― Martin Luther King Jr., Strength to Love (Happy MLK day by the way)

And... if If hatred begets hatred which begets more hatred where will it all end? Taken from a quote from Ms Manners....

"If rudeness begets rudeness, which begets more rudeness, where will it all end? Miss Manners often receives letters from people who assume that she is a believer and can supply a method to 'put down' this person or that. Miss Manners will not subscribe to such behavior. She does not allow rude people to spoil her life, but she does not seek satisfaction in spoiling theirs." -- Judith Martin ("Ms Manners")

Yes, I recall reading about his theology and got the impression as well.
Think about what Jesus said, "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

Think now where is the gate, before the road or at the end of the road that leads to destruction. He seems to say entering that gate puts you on that road, but that would be contrary to how we naturally think. If your on that path to destruction in hell, only God could pull you off of it. You go through that gate, there is no turning back on your own without help, your given over to a debased mind, just like Romans 1 describes about people who don't keep a Holy God in mind concerning their evil behaviors, ways and doings.

    Psalm 37
Do not fret because of evildoers,
Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
And wither as the green herb.

    3 Trust in the Lord, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

I read that MLK held to a form of Black liberation theology, denied Virgin Birth, Jesus was God, and physical resurrection!

Opinion | MLK's legacy is the Black liberation theology Warnock was attacked for preaching

He said that the evidence for the Virgin Birth is “is too shallow to convince any objective thinker.” He stripped the doctrines of the divine sonship of Christ, the virgin birth and bodily resurrection of all literal meaning, saying, “we [could] argue with all degrees of logic that these doctrines are historically and [philosophically] untenable.” In another paper he wrote:

If you deny the physical resurrection Of Jesus Christ by the Father who raised Him from the dead, you can not be a Christian. And you deny the Father and the Son.

The social justice gospel is a false gospel. It will not grant to you eternal life with God in heaven, like Christ said truly they have received their reward, but only for this temporary life and then comes the judgement.

Take heed that you do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise you have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

2Therefore when you do your alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.

God used a flawed person like Trump, and an equally flawed person like MLK to have his will be done!
