The Foot that defined the US Meter to be done away.

    Sarcasm and then "peace to you?"
    In 1866 the meter was defined as 39.37 inches. A foot being 12 inches. The foot is still 12 inches. But in 1959 a foot was defined by .3048 meters. making the foot .0000006 shorter. That detail is not a big deal. What they are not saying is they are doing away with the 1866 US meter. Instead they are changing the foot unit being used, when in fact it is the 1866 meter which is not going to be used after 2022. But they are not saying it that way. Why?
