It’s anti- science to deny natural immunity

Recently-tapped Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo blasted vaccine mandates and politicians and some public health officials’ “denial” of “natural immunity,” during a rally in Clearwater on Thursday.

Questioning mandates for the COVID-19 vaccine, Dr. Ladapo noted that people can still get infected with the virus even if they are vaccinated, adding that it’s anti-scientific to discount natural immunity — that is, gaining antibodies by fighting a COVID-19 infection, not receiving the vaccine.

It is anti-science to deny natural immunity. I absolutely agree. Most infections provides some type of functional immunity.

With covid it does not provide sterilising immunity (you can get covud multiple times).

But it has been proven the effectiveness of this immunity us dependent on the severity of the illness. It has been proven natural immunity is not long term (perhaps because the virus reduces t-cell immunity while increasing antibodies). It as been proven natural immunity is less effective than the vaccines when varients are concerned.

But to my knowledge nobody us questioning natural immunity.

In the following report, the natural immunity meant the immunity earned after a person was infected with Coronavirus and it is said to have the immunity 13 times as strong as the Pfizer vaccines does.
The question is about the natural immunity of the people who had no symptom, no pain but might have had contracted Covid unknowingly. It is not tested in this report. But I believe it is the same or even better than the natural immunity of the infected patients.

I know. I have been arguing that fact against anti-covid-vaxers for months.

The difference is the vaccine is safer than the virus and the vaccine provides a greater level of disease prevention. In other words, vaccinated people have less a chance of getting covid, less a chance of producing varients, and less a chance of becoming seriously ill than does unvaccinated covid survivers. Also, with the vaccine a standard level of functional immunity is expected while with infection it depends on the degree of infection.

It might but I don’t know that and contrary to the belief of some the science is not settled. In fact it’s not even possible as there hasn’t been enough time.
