Are two men married in truth if the statutes are changed to say they are?

Just look at the first marriage. A woman is brought to a man, and a pronouncement is made that they are joined and are one flesh.

Marriage is not a ceremony, it is a joining.

    Wrong!

If "one flesh" constitutes marriage, then Jesus would not have told the Samaritan woman the man she is now with is not her husband. By this, Jesus says marriage is something external to the physical union. Marriage is a committment to sustain the union for life. Fornication is the union without the committment.

    (2) I Cor. 6:16, “What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two saith he, shall be one flesh,” which passage cannot be understood to teach that fornication establishes a true and valid marriage relationship.

Protestant Reformed Church. Acts of Synod and Yearbook 1987 PRC.

“He said to her, “Go call your husband and come back here.”The woman replied, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “Right you are when you said, ‘I have no husband,’for you have had five husbands, and the man you are living with now is not your husband. This you said truthfully!”” John 4:16–18 (NET)

“LEGAL”, is a man-made term. Anything, repeat ANYTHING can be made “LEGAL”, simply by govt endorsement, but it’s not necessarily moral, biblical, or ethical.:Devilish

    Isnt that what I said?????

For example - Abortion is no longer murder- legally - (in most situation) because
    the SCOTUS said so.
But Morally abortion is murder and God will judge it as such.

Oh. You think being one flesh is sex. That's a common erroneous notion, and misunderstanding of what Paul is saying. We could argue about what Paul meant, but it doesn't matter.

Jesus said, 'What therefore God hath joined together . . .'

The two becoming one is an act of God, not man.

Fornication is an act of man, and does not make two one.

Not at all. I already proved the truth of the matter using notes from a major church synod who debated the issue for years and settled on what I said.

I'm missing your point. If it matters to you, state it clearly.

I've made my point. Marriage is the union of a man and woman in a covenant relationship ratified by an oarth, thereby becoming one flesh, meaning that marriage cannot be entered into by members of the same sex.

    You said:
meaning that marriage can be entered into by members of the same sex.

You said I was wrong, and cited a council. I said you were wrong and cited Jesus.

You said you were right again, and I said "K."

What else do you want? You need a hug?

You are totally wrong. Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding/marriage. Any marriage is legally binding even if sinful as in cases of divorce and remarriage. Or with members of the same sex.

Does God join two men together in one flesh? Or does He, as Jesus said, join a man and a woman?

Yes, a marriage is a God-ordained ceremony. It's for life. We have adulterous marriages between the divorced and remarried. Those who sin against the clear teaching of scripture in their unions. It has nothing to do with cohabitation. Jesus told the woman living with her boyfriend that she had 5 husbands, and the boyfriend is not one of them.
