Your country looks like a very depressed place to live with such high of people killing themselves

Country..................# of Suicides ..................per 100,000

USA..........................45,979....................,,,,,,,,,,,,14.0

UK..............................6,507....................,,,,,,,,,,,,11.2

Yes, a higher rate in the USA - but not by much.

A large number of suicides are by veterans with PTSD (est of 22 per day)
A large number of suicides are by divorced dads
I often wonder how many of those vets are divorced dads

15 Common Causes Of Suicide: Why Do People Kill Themselves? - Mental Health Daily

So what can our churches do about Suicides?

I live in Madison county
Suicide rate per 100,000 population From 2016

Madison: 13.4 (population of 70,941) (est of 10 for this reporting period)

The surrounding counties:

Onondaga: 11.2

Oswego: 14.8

Cortland: 9

Oneida: 12.2

***************
New York state: 8.4

U.S.: 13
By State/Commonwealth
Suicide Rates by State

Here in Oneida, NY, the Evangelical churches are having a weekly prayer meeting
every Friday at 12 Noon. The purpose is to bring revival to the greater Oneida area.

Would you consider doing so in your city? If so, let me know, and I will share it with our group.

As a body of God's elect - Preach the gospel. That is what the church was commissioned to do. Also, look to the needs of the members, as the Lord directs.

Anything for those outside of Christ's body, will be done by individual members of God's elect, as the Lord directs.

Ken,
I added a small bit on the OP - that you would not have seen-
But the Christian community needs to be praying

May we ask the Lord to lead us to those in depression and present the Love of the Lord to them.

I’m sure President Biden’s staff will deal with the suicide problem.
It still in the discussion phase but plans are to make it illegal and impose a stiff fine those that do it. [/sarcasm]

Very tough. Bottom line is mental illness, drug abuse are big factors. Depression is a very real problem for some folks that cannot be wished away.

Counseling, therapy, close support groups all good, but bottom line, they have to decide to live.

peace to you
