The funeral for Queen Elizabeth will be at 1100, Central European time.

In the USA the time will be:
6 am, Eastern Time
5 AM Central Time
4 am Mt Time
3 am Pacific time
2 am Alaska time


Do you plan on being up for the funeral?

Nope.

But I do have a footnote for QE2.

Several stories have been published where QE2 understood the "special relation" enjoyed between the United Kingdom and America. Recall that QE2 is a member of the generation that lived through WWII and was old enough to remember it. Prior to Pearl Harbor, the UK stood alone against the Axis powers, nearly losing its entire army, and then suffering the horrific bombing of the "Blitz." QE2 experienced all that.

Then, after America joined the fight, she could remember those American Airbases where groups of B-17's took off each day and for many nights not all returned. Thus for many lost planes, perhaps 10 America flyers took off to defend the UK and the Allies and never returned. Ditto the next day and so forth.

Yes QE2 understood our "special relationship."

Do you plan on being up for the funeral?

No. The only interest I have had concerning British royalty was watching them come in riding open coaches at the start of each day of the Royal Ascot week of horse racing the past few years.
