Open Skies?

During the Age of Eisenhower, Ike proposed "Open Skies" allowing both sides of the "Cold War" to overfly each others countries, so neither side would fear a mass military gathering. Nikita rejected the proposal.

Now, of course, our satellite surveillance provides such assurance. However, because of "smart weaponry" a far smaller marshaling is needed to devastate the other side. Hence the need for higher resolution photography from aircraft like the Blackbird, or high altitude lighter than air vehicles.

Obviously the present administration has chosen, thus far, to kept secret how many of these "flight-path hazards" have been removed from our skies.

With the third shoot down, the Canadian Defense person said this was the first shoot down by NORAD. If true, then something evil comes our way.

Meanwhile we are retiring many early F-22, because it would cost too much to bring them up to current standards, but we should be giving them to Taiwan. Ditto for our F-18C/D planes. And we should be building C-17's or its replacement right now.

The Air Force should be able to fly those 30 Abrams to the Ukraine within 48 hours of the decision to actually send them along with the supporting crews and equipment in 30 C-17's. But that would require another administration!

Wrong. They need to go to Europe first so ukrainian crews can be trained to die in them. What are 30 old style Abrams going to do? Experimental?

A C-17 holds the whole complement of supporting crew members. Training can be done in Ukraine. What the administration did was say one thing and do another, just like Obama.

When the USA sent Abrams to Iraq, the initial training took less than 3 weeks and the entire course took about 7 weeks. And it took place in country.

First time EVER, since the implementation of NORAD that anything has been shot down. Now 3 in one week, plus the F-22 pilot over Lake Huron missed the practically stationary object with the first shot. Where’s Maverick when you need him? Prolly in diversity training. Maybe it was one of the all female crew that did the superbowl flyover which came in 20 minutes late….heh.
