"But suddenly there’s light breaking through the dark clouds: A political outsider stunned everyone by finishing first in the national presidential primary. A runoff is coming in October.

The headline-maker is the platform of Javier Milei...This episode of What’s Ahead highlights one of the most exciting agendas in modern times, ranging from replacing the peso with the U.S. dollar to slashing taxes to taking a chainsaw to government spending.

Milei is a true believer in free markets. He even names his dogs after free-market economists, such as Milton for the famed Nobel Prize-winner, Milton Friedman."

I just finished with the movie “Cromwell”… on his tomb is written, Christ not man is the king. That is worth reminding every politician.

I prefer this. Cromwell description closely resembles our own congress. “You are scum sir” is spot on in my view.

Of course, humans beings are involved in Congress or any governing body. All of us mere humans are worms.

It is interesting that at the end of the movie in that scene you posted, Cromwell ends up dismissing parliament and in essence becomes a tyrant himself.

@Earth Wind and Fire A more realistic treatment of Oliver Cromwell and the English Civil War is a 2003 movie, "To Kill a King". I watched it a few years ago. I prefer "Cromwell" for the quality of the acting and the storytelling, much like I like John Wayne's "The Alamo", even though it takes license with the history.

True… Harris is Shakespearian trained. And the dialog is good. The real Agitation was John Pim and they barely tough on that in the movie. Cromwell stepped in/up after Pim died of cancer. A perfect fit because he was general of Calvary and very popular with the troops. Less popular after he couldn’t pay them.

Tyrant, I’d debate that. The UK as a whole was a hot mess. RC was encroaching on a King and country who were supposedly definitively Protestant. In the end, they were forced to import both the Dutch and the Germans to bring order and both were tyrannical regime’s in their own right. Thank God they are a sea faring country to bring about empire because they failed miserably as a democratic Republic.

Here is an exercise you might entertain… compare Cromwell to Julius Caesar for similar characteristics. I find that fascinating
