Report: US troops heading for Israel…

It's war, proportional has nothing to do with it. Ending it outright should always be the goal.

The neoconservatives are back in the news with their call, that they have been wanting at least since the days of the founding of the old Project for a New American Century(PNAC), to go to war with Iran. Remember, the neoconservatives thought after the attacks on 9/11/2001 that they could use them to remake the Middle East. But their claim of WMDs in Iraq proved false and the war in Iraq got bogged down, so the neoconservatives lost the support of the American people. But now they are back.
Where is our Peace on earth, good will to men?

Does this "targeting" refer to Hamas targeting or Israeli targeting? No clear statement is made. But the implication is that it was Israeli targeting, because "America should stay home.

I agree. However, the neoconservatives are back with their foreign adventurism and they will try to use this conflict between Israel and Hamas to try to fulfill their dream of having the United States go to war with Iran.

. Lacking in all this saber rattling is the concept of peace in the Middle East thru (repentance & forgiveness) … concepts seemingly rejected by Hamas and Israel.
Well....Congress is broken, so they might as well go.
While their families will have to rely on charity to make it when the government isn't funded, they will at least get back pay with additional money (hazardous duty pay, combat pay, and such) when and if the GOP gets its act together.
It doesn't look like a hospital was targeted at all, BTW. So far it appears to have been a rocket from inside Gaza. That's what you get when you make 'em yourselves in apartment buildings. No quality control. Like gas pipe fittings made in China.
Maybe they could put George Santos in there. After all, it’s a clown show now.

The question to ask is if there are national interests for US involvement with Israel.
If there are none, then don't send support (military, money, aid, weapons).
If there are, then send support to defend our interests.

The question really isn’t whether to support Israel, but whether to send troops into harms way… though I suppose some don’t want us to support Israel at all.

Yep some don't but beyond that there are dead Americans and some hostages which is reason enough to get involved.
There is also an issue of a common enemy.
Yes, Hamas has taken American hostages, and has killed Americans. At the same time, many US citizens have a dual citizenship with Israel and serve in the Israeli military.
But more importantly, IMHO, is the value of Israel to the US.
Then there is Hezbollah (an active enemy of the US).
Israel is surrounded by nations dedicated to destroying Israel.
Those are things that need to be weighed.
I not saying troops need to be sent in (I don't even know that Israel has requested US troops be sent in, and I don't know that they are needed).
I'm just saying that these are things that need to be considered.
If it helps, about 90% of the things I post regarding politics is sarcasm.
But....that statement might be sarcastic as well.
