I have never been able to keep a tune with headphones on. It changes the way I hear myself. And yes, I can carry a tune without them. I don’t understand how people can do it with them. Sorry for hijacking the thread, but are there any sound experts out there who can explain why some people don’t seem to struggle with this? Are they just not as deaf so they don’t need the volume up so much?

And yes, I’ll give the guy the benefit of the doubt, until I think about it and realize that he is probably the one who released the video.

Most vocalists I know of typically have their headphones on one ear to hear the music track leaving the other ear uncovered so they can "hear themselves." I do as well. I cannot explain the physiology - just that what you have observed seems to be true for most.

He has quite an uncomplimentary history.

And is on my top 10 list for memorable sermons (sometimes that's not a good thing).
