Reproof for that sort of thinking, Yeshua1, from Spurgeon (Sermon 1693):

"....peace...—certainly with His people, but also with all mankind....Therefore let us harbor no malice...we are the friends of every man that breathes. For my own part, I have a crusade against the devil and all evil, but the truce of God is upon me with regard to all my fellow men....that peace which was proclaimed at Bethlehem by the angel...—“Peace on earth: good will toward men.”

While this post was not addressed to me, please consider my comment.
I am a fan of Spurgeon. However, I take issue with his stated position. If the ESV was available in his day, he might have changed his view.:Wink

2Cr 6:14 KJV - Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
2Cr 6:15 KJV - And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
2Cr 6:16 KJV - And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2Cr 6:17 KJV - Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

2Co 6:14 ESV - Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
2Co 6:15 ESV - What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?
2Co 6:16 ESV - What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, "I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2Co 6:17 ESV - Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you,

God is not at peace towards all men, just to all who have Jesus as their Lord and savior!

Can we attribute the difference to the Critical Text?
