    @Scarlett O.

Sister, this is an on going issue as to how best to give an answer with a brother or sister one might disagree with.

Ephesians 4:14-15, That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: . . .

How is referring to someone by the theological view that they hold derogatory or demeaning?

Pointing out the error of a position is not arguing it is just pointing out the error of their position.

But it is going on ad nausem on more than one thread that I have seen.

You are NEVER going to convince him. He won't even speak with me or answer me.

This is a supposition not a fact. What context are you using Hyper Calvinist in? In my own little religious community I have myself been referred to as both Calvinistic & Hyper Calvinist, both I consider untrue labels… and it is funny that those who throw those definitions around have no clue of who I am or what I believe. Clearly it would be far better not to use them to identify a brother. That action can create division and God knows what the reaction might be. Note that I never defined you by your belief system and have given you every chance to explain yourself without using onerous definitions. That courtesy should be extended to others as well. Here’s hoping that iron sharpens iron not by using expressions that are demeaning.

I understand that I may not convince him, but I do not write for him alone but for those that may read his posts and think that what he is putting forward is biblical. That is why I counter his comments with scripture. He has the right to believe what he wants but when he presents false doctrine then it is incumbent upon Christians to point this out.

I live in an area where false doctrine has crept into the church as I should imagine it has in many areas. I will do my best to present the truth of God's word and trust that the Holy Spirit will move some hearts to a correct understanding of His word.

EFW I know you call yourself a PB but from what I have read PB's hold to a calvinist view. If I refer to someone as a calvinist or hyper calvinist it is just pointing to the views they are presenting. BF has posted some radical views including that God is the Author of sin. That has to be called out and I do not think it is a view that you hold so the hyper calvinist name seems to fit BF.

My intent is not to come here to cause discord but I also can not let false doctrine stand without a response.

This is the best way to understand my theological view:
“I’m willing to compromise about many things, but not the Word of God.” Adrian Rogers

I do not consider myself a Calvinist or an Arminian, but just a disciple of Christ Jesus.

My concern is with causing division amongst the brethren which always causes discord. If you are concerned with someone’s beliefs it’s best to allow a moderator handle the situation.

BTW, my Christian name is Stephen but I commonly use the name Steve.

Morning Steve, my Christian name is Dale. I do understand what you are saying re the mod and if the views being expressed on here reached the level of heresy I would contact them.

What I try to do is point out errors in the understanding of biblical texts. Take BF for example, do I think he is a Christian brother, YES. Do I think that he has some views that do not agree with the biblical text, YES. But I am sure he thinks the same about me.

I have asked him a number of times if he thinks God is sovereign and he refuses to answer. I think he will not answer as it would point out the logical errors in his theology. I also think that it is because of his theological view that he has to say God is the author of sin. That view has to be corrected and the only way to do so is to engage with him and hopefully he will see the logical error in that view.

Division is the last thing that I want among the Christian community. But we, as a Christian community, have to be vigilant and stand against errant views as they can harm the body from within.
