Let's examine this verse. What gives God glory? Obviously things that do not defame his name. Can one drink a Pepsi to Gods glory? Have a beverage? Eat a steak? If eating causes gluttony then no. If drinking leads to drunkenness then no. But what about eating and drinking with other believers? I believe that can give God glory. What about having a glass of wine while doing a bible study? Yes that can give God glory. So what say you?

You will need to explain this one to me. I do not see how drinking during a Bible Study can be a form of praise.

Yet another thread asserting what is not found in the Bible. The bible tells us how we can bring glory to God.
When we turn from a self directed life to God and serve Jesus as our God and our Lord/Master, that is when we bring glory to God.

The bible says when we repent we bring glory to God. Jesus is our Lord and Master. We are to obey all He commanded. Thus our ministry to Christ is to the glory God, provided we are not building on Christ's foundation with straw.

You know some churches use wine in their communion.

This is the difference between a life transformed by the gospel and the gospel transformed to a life.

1 Corinthians 10:31-33 Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense either to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God; just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit but the profit of the many, so that they may be saved.
I suppose, per the verse you've posted, the criteria is if it glorifies God (God's nature, the gospel, ect.) to others so that they may be saved. It is denying your own desires, not seeking your own gain or pleasure, but doing all for the benefit of other people - so that they may be saved.

Not speaking hypothetically - Do you drink because you like it (because you find it pleasurable)...i.e., seeking your own profit...or do you drink in subduing your flesh and to bring other people to Christ, that they might be saved?

Do you drink pepsi's and beverages for that profit?

The only way to drink to glorify God is to drink in communion.

Excuse me?????????? What they have done is called Sin!!!!!! Drinking in moderation is not sin. It may be in your eyes but you can't defend your position from scripture.

Excuse me, sir, but is that a log in your eye?

Why? It is not illegal. God made it (it is, in fact, more natural than Mikes). And, unlike alcohol, pot is not physically addictive. And those people are smoking pot, as you say, to Gods glory (gathering to toke up and study the Bible).

I had the same thought reading the OP. :Wink

What's the difference between using one drug to glorify God as opposed to the other?

Why not? He is just using your own argument about drinking and cigars and applying it to pot. The fact that you have a problem with that argument when it comes to pot shows the inherent weakness of your argument that if it's natural it must be ok, or if x person in the past used it, then it must be ok.

Because alcohol is not a drug nor a curse. It's just alcohol abuse that is condemned in scripture. Actually some alcohol in moderation is actually good for you and had medicinal benefits.

Never mind on the smoking as that was a bad argument.

But as I have said many times scripture does not condemn alcohol drinking.

    "Alcohol is not a drug."
    "Alcohol has medicinal benefits."

You do see the problem with your statements?
