And then the conservative, white people get upset at all this and the anger starts to overflow rather than the love of Christ.

Like the stuff from Al Sharpton and Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh and Jesse Jackson, posts like this just serve to stir the pot and incense people under the guise of truthful information.

For the reason mentioned before the Scripture. Just the other day, we were talking about Obama dividing the country. The country is divided because GOD's PEOPLE, not the lost, keep stirring the pot with the things that divide. We're always looking at everybody else with no regard for what we, the Church, are doing.

Political and social philosophies will always divide. Go to any Baptist Church and mention something about a political or social philosophy upon which the congregation agrees with, and they'll stand up and hoot and holler like there is no tomorrow. But when it comes to worship, they'll applaud and just st there looking Baptist cute.:laugh:

Say "The country is overwhelmed by immorality and we've got to take it back from the homosexuals and the other "deviants" and Baptist will stand up and applaud and whistle.

Say "the Church needs to repent" and you'll get a few AMENs.

The point is that people in the church have made politics and social philosophies into gods. That's one of the reasons why the nastiest attitudes come out when these things are discussed.

Posts like this do nothing more than highlight that there are a lot of angry folks in the church who are more concerned with being the defender of their politics and social philosophies than they are with being displayers of God's love.

Why are we talking so much about Republican and Democrat, conservative and liberal, racism and discrimination when we're supposed to be telling folks about Jesus?

The Church has developed a bad reputation for being about these political and social positions rather than being about the love of Jesus. And that's a shame and it needs to stop.

I think, given your propensity to yell "racist" every time you see something you don't like, you simply don't want the conversation to happen because you simply can't control the narrative.

You must be directing this towards someone else because you haven't seen me call anything racist. I'm quick to tell ya that the average person on here and in society in general will call something racist that is raelly prejudice.

I didn't say disagree. I'm asking why we're known so much for our political and social bents as opposed to our love for Christ and others? Why do those in the Body of Christ feel the need to come sideways at folks whose politics and social philosophies don't line up with their own?

It's obvious from the tenor of the majority of threads about politics and social philosophies that any discussion of them tends to bring out a lot of nastiness. So why keep going there? Why keep stirring up anger in the same manner that Sean, Rush, Al and Jesse do?

Posts like the OP do nothing but perpetuate that Christians are all about issues and not a love for Christ and others.

I disagree. I think the OP illustrates an ever growing anger in those in the Church over things tied to this world.

Just like lots of people on here berate Jesse and Al for always crying race, those in the church are steadily becoming known for this type of obvious anger that is viewed against their conservative politics and social philosophies.

The Church really doesn't need to be associated with this type of behavior but rather be known for a love of Christ and of others.

We were left here to point people to Christ; to be known for loving Christ and others.

We weren't left here to become known as a people caught up in Republican vs Democrat or conservative vs liberal.

It's the same tactic that Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh use so well to call people to action.

Enough of it already. Shouldn't we be calling people to become engaged with pointing others to Christ rather than attempting to rile them up because we're in agreement against somebody else's politics and social philosophy?

And that's the excuse we have become so good at using. We got to be so good at telling it like it is when it came to politics and our social philosophies that we promoted the candidacy of a man who is 100% against Christ for President because he was in agreement with our politics and social philosophies. And because we were mad as hades about the man who was in office economically tearing the country down with his policies.

Why don't you go point by point and tell us why it isn't true ?

I'm saying that coming from the Body of Christ, the frustration...the obvious growing anger... amongst those who call themselves conservatives and Christians is a bad face to paint on.

Why aren't people in the Church known for getting angry that folks aren't receiving the Gospel?
