There aren't any in the Republican frontrunners camp that give me a warm fuzzy. Of course, what the Democrats have to offer sends chills down my spine.

Considering the potential field, I do not believe that religion will play a significant role in the republicans' platform. Conservative, yes. Religious, no.

Maybe a real grassroots program for that elusive third party would really help.

Giuliani has got to be way to liberal for you guys.

One of the things I dislike about him was that he announced on TV that he was marrying his girlfriend before he mentioned divorce to his wife and children. (Whatever else I may dislike about Bush, he loves & respects his family).

Condi Rice might be interesting. I wonder how much she's learned from this Iraq fiasco. Is she a Cheney fan, does she want to dismantle the government?

Democrat - Hillary Clinton
Republican - Arnold the governor

 

Arnold is very unlikely, considering that it is currently illegal for a non-native born American to be President.

I think Hillary will have a go at it for the Democrats, but even if she is selected as the Dem. candidate there is no way she will win. There are just too many older style Democrats out there to elect a woman President.

Seeing how religion played, in my opinion, the 2nd most, or perhaps even the top criteria for getting droves of new voters to the polls, I believe that the Republican nominee in '08 will either be Giuliani, because of 9/11, or a candidate who is publicly very religious. As of this moment I can not imagine who that would be. Ashcroft? er, maybe not.

 

I don't see Giuliani being acceptable to the South. No one wins the GOP nod who isn't acceptable to the GOP power base in the South.

 

Here is what I think will be a rock solid prediction for 2008:

Democrats will run Hillary Clinton for President and GOP will run national hero Rudy Gulliani for President against her.

The VP prediction is a bit less rock solid IMO:

Hillary will pick Obama for VP. Rudy will pick Zell Miller for VP.

It will be a close race, but I think Hillary has a good chance of winning, and Bill will be appointed ambassador to the UN and start working within the organization to be elevated to Secretary General.

J.C Watts should run for the Presidency. He's the only politican that I've ever been truly impressed with. When I saw him give the Republican response to Clinton's 1997 State of theUnion speech I asked myself, Who is this guy?" I've followed his career closely and I just think he has that "it" to be President.

 

Sure, she says she's "reluctantly pro-choice". That makes her an ideal candidate or most evangelical Christians, who will argue the the Democrat is not reluctant.

 

There is little doubt who will be the 2008 candidate. The Bush family owns the GOP, and they will place Jeb Bush in the seat, and demand that Christians vote for him. Christians will happily do as told.

You should stick to your principles and not expand your horizons into speculation. We respected you for your stand on the election but you are rapidly losing credibility.

Besides being Mayor when 9/11 happened, what qualifications does Giuliani have?

 

It looks like Bush may be giving him some more qualifications in his new administration. Some believe he may be replacing Ashcroft as the next Attorney General.

 

He was mature enough to recognize when the combover wasn't working. You'd be surprised how many men think that no one notices.
