I still remember this post from a few of months ago:

I will support Mitt for as long as he is running for president. I guarantee it. If I change, then I will leave Baptist Board permanently. That's a promise.

At the time I had no idea that Ron Paul would be running for president. I had absolutely no hope that these United States would have an opportunity to vote for a man of such integrity who is true to the ideals of our Founding Fathers.

Now that Congressman Paul has officially announced his campaign for president in 2008 I simply cannot allow this opportunity to fully support such a candidate pass by. Therefore, I am officially switching my support from Mitt Romney to Ron Paul and, fufilling my promise, must say adios to posting on the Baptist Board.

Besides, 22,000 posts is a lot of posting, and I am sure I can find other uses for the time I would spend posting on the Baptist Board - such as helping Ron Paul to be elected president in November 2008.

May God bless you all. Maybe I will run across some of you elsewhere on the Internet. I certainly hope to see all of you in Heaven.

Adios. :)

Adios??!!

Ken,
A while ago when I was in Arkansas and I first really took notice of your positions, I did not always agree, maybe 10% difference, I was glad to be on your side. Now you leave us??? We will certainly miss you. I consider you my friend and I respect your opinions. Goodbye and may the Lord bless you.

From your brother and fellow dog trainer.

I too, am sorry to see you go Ken. I wish you the best, and it's my hope that Romney drops out so you can come back with breaking a promise. :)

Even if he don't drop out, you should still stick around.

If you're really going to help Ron Paul, then currently you can count me in as a vote. I like what I see in him.

Take care and Best of luck!

Be sure to look in on us every once in a while. You can still lurk and keep the promise.

God be with you til we meet again.

Your brother for Christ's sake,

James

I have to say, I considered Romney because of your support for him...
hmmmm...

I'll check out this other guy now.

Good-bye Ken! Sorry to see you go. However, you might just want to consider this before you leave:

I think we all understand that your "promise" was more of a rhetorical statement than anything else. It just emphased your political zeal.

Also, we are going to need someone here to keep us apprised of the situation concerning Ron Paul's campaign, and I can't think of a better person to fill that role than you! Surely you don't want us to get our information from Church Mouse Guy!!

Oh, Ken, everyone leans to one person or another throughout a long campaign and it is no big deal to switch from one to another. You might as well stick around and post some more because it is hard to find a decent political board on the internet. And you will have to lean towards someone else in a few weeks when Ron Paul announces that he has no more money to spend and not enough supporters to continue. I doubt if he will even be on the Indiana ticket 14 months from now. So keep posting, Ken! Another 22,000 and soon! Long live, Ken! Debate sharpens everyone's minds! Go, Ken!

Ken,

The kind of "promise" you made didnt come across to me like the kind of promise that anyone is going to hold against you if you dont stick to it, including God, if thats what you are concerned about. It sounded like one of those "just a form or expression" things.

Like when I sometimes say something like "I'd bet 1000 dollars that John calls in sick tomorrow", even though I dont even waste my money on a 2 dollar lottery ticket, let alone gamble large sums of money.

If you want to keep posting, but you think people will think less of you, forget it. Nobody will think less of you. Keep posting.

But if you just feel burned out or something due to all those posts, then God bless you and keep you in whatever you do instead in your spare time. :wavey:

I hate to see you leave, but you show character in your actions.

Here in Ireland something similar happened this morning. Trevor Seargent, leader of the Green Part swore that he would never go into government with Fianna Fail and Taoiseach Bertie Ahern. Today and new government goes into power and sure enough, Greens and Fianna Fail go into government together. Did Mr Seargent go back on his word and take a government position? No, he resigned his position.

Character, a rare thing in the world today.

Can you come back after the election or if Ron Paul drops out ;) ?
