The things he list sound as if they came right out of todays newspaper. Wasteful spending, Higher taxes,Unbalanced budget, Run away inflation, Wage and price controls and a complete surrender of our sovereign rights and complete Government control.

50 years ago Robert Welch had me snowed - back when the JBS was supposed to be a secret society. Somehow, all this "everybody hates us" routine seems to do is help the rich to get richer. Anyone else notice that several of the JBS are and always were LDS?

I don't see:

Complete loss of the sovereignty of the U.S. to the United Nations. Actually, the U.S. uses the U.N. as its own tool.

Higher Taxes. I see more taxes, but the income tax rate has declined dramatically since this speech.

Wild inflation. On the contrary, outside of the price of oil/gasoline, inflation has been relatively tame for the past 30 years.

Government controls of wages, prices, and materials.

Wiping out of our state lines.

The absolute necessity of peace on the Communist terms.

Appeasement of Communism to maintain the peace.

I grew up in a home that received John Birch literature and have been read these predictions many times.
