Several years ago - NY spent about 8 mill putting up "I love NY" signs on I-90 (NY Thruway toll rd)
The purpose was to encourage the traveling public to visit the various activities of NY State.
However the Feds said NY cannot have those signs on an Interstate Highway, or NY would loose millions in Highway funds.
