This comment is meaningless to me. What are you talking about?

You seem upset that I listened to one of Adrian Rogers sermons, said he was easy to listen to, but theologically incorrect in his teaching about salvation. That is my assessment. Do you agree with Pastor Rogers theology regarding salvation? If so, we disagree on that doctrine. If you tire of having someone disagree with you, you probably shouldn't be on a forum where we agree to disagree.

Not if you take Jesus teaching to heart and obey. Both are perfectly juxtaposed in God's ordained will.

    Not true.
There are many allegorical teachings in the Reformed camp that are poor interpretations of scripture.
The doctrine of God's Sovereign choice and ordination in salvation is very clearly taught by God himself. Why would you or any other child of God be upset with this truth?

    Hello Salty,

Of course we are called to be witnesses. We do not know who is elect until they believe. We know that every elect person will get saved by God.

Are you saying that "a born again child of the living God" cannot misunderstand the Scriptures at all? The way you asked your own question implies you think those who disagree with you lie outside the category. I hope not.

I like Adrian Rogers. It's hard not to. In fact, he's the token Arminian on my ipod, mostly because I like his "patriotic" sermons.

And, since I live in the area he is from, I know a couple of people who knew him, both as a pastor and as an individual and they have nothing but fond memories of him.

But that having been said, he was an Arminian and, so, as with all Arminians, great care should be taken when listening to his presentation of the Gospel to discern truth from error, as it will tend to be man-centered.

As an aside, I think it's funny that he has a Southern accent when he's from West Palm Beach, when we've been so inundated by the yankees that this part of Florida is now known as the Jersey Shore with palm trees.

Particular introduced Calvinism into this thread.

You accused @Reynolds of the exact same thing. You do not control the direction of these threads. You do not get to bully people. You do not get to shut people down and censor them because you do not like what they say. People have interests and can discuss what they see as relevant. Get over it. If you do not like what is said then don't reply.

If you want to discuss these things with someone who is likeminded then open a word document and go at it. Here people (probably most people) will disagree with you at some point. They have the right to express their views here without you trying to silence them at every turn.

I did not realize you held to Pelagianism, but yes.

Whatever your understanding work it out the best you can and be the best Christian you can be.

Good thing most people here aren't so stupid that they think I was promoting Pelagianism, but understand that I was making a point about Arminianism.

    And then, there's you.

Typical. Calvinist subtly using falsehoods to call Arminians heretics.

I do not know that he really understands the difference. Too often these guys pick up on terms they do not understand and think they are insults so they use them to attack people who hold different views.

...as opposed to Arminians who will just call us heretics outright.

Sure. I also understand the similarities.

    Do you?
Third post you've insulted me, and yet, you still can't tell us what I said that's wrong.

You insulted me and my wife, but I have not insulted you at all.

What you have said that is wrong is that Pelagianism is not, nor is it theologically related to, Arminianism.

Pelagianism holds that men are not depraved and can come to God by their own volition.

Semi-pelagianism holds that man is able to turn to God and then God takes over.

Arminianism holds that men are depraved and cannot come to God except God draw him. Men can still willfully reject God but apart from the work of the Spirit cannot be saved.

Arminianism is of a Calvinistic trajectory. Pelagianism is not.

I forgive you for your insults. Even the false clam that I have been hiding behind a moderator status. If I moderated threads that involved me you would have already been banned.

I dont know of any Arminians who consider Calvinists heretics. I am sure there are some, but I dont know them and if I did, would not associate with them.
