LOL...I didn't know Michael Douglas was a baptist.

And I guess it's not lust if it's his wife, since apparently viewing a woman's face and using it as a profile pic as a joke amounts to lust...if she's not your wife.

Here that! Elk season this weekend. Have men who work in the outdoors and depend on getting a couple goats, a couple mulies, and an elk to fill the larder for the long winter months!

BTW, I am Reformed and wear Orange on St Patrick's Day. Not a Catholic green-wearing pub-crawler. The REAL Irish are loyal to the Crown and wear orange.

Should we change our church constitution to reflect that?

I think that was taken out of the 1644 London Confession when they revised it in 1689.

    But implied. :tonofbricks:

There's nothing wrong with Christmas as long as...

We understand Jesus was not likely born on December 25.
We understand should celebrate the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus every day.
We understand that God never declared a holy day for NT worship.
We don't attach special meaning to a certain day.

If you want to celebrate Christmas, go ahead. I'm certainly glad that at least one time a year some bible verses with be quoted on television and Jesus Christ will be mentioned. I wish it were more often, but I'll take this at least.

As far as what Christians did in 200 AD, I could care less, really. At least some Christians in 200 AD were following heresy. Does that mean it is ok for me to as well? Early Christianity was not infallible. Our rule isn't what early Christians did, but rather what the NT says. The NT has no record of Christians observing a special day for any religious significance neither is such commanded anywhere in the NT. Again, if one wants to observe Christmas, that's fine. But tradition is no reason.
