I agree with the view that scripture refers to the condition a person is in, rather than a class of person.

Having acknowledged that truth, there are far better English translations such as the NASB, the NKJV, and the CSB.

Generally speaking, I think it is good if translations are reviewed every 40 years or so.
However, in the case of the NRSV it's like putting lipstick on a pig.
