Then why was the title "Aircraft safety?"

But I defer to the observation that human (pilot) error is the greatest cause of aircraft passenger deaths. Flying is safer than any other means of travel excepting nuke subs?

If you look at post # 1, the OP says:
PHP:
So here is my question - if you were the man in charge, what would
you do to ensure a flight to be safe from hijacking form terrorists?
In case you could not figure it out, terrorist threats do come under the general topic of "aircraft safety" just as pilot error, maintenance, ect would also be similar sub-sections.
I am concentrating on the terrorist situation in this thread.

If you would like to start another thread about pilots and maintenance, feel free to do so; if you do, I promise not to "hijack it" .

Perhaps because there are so many characters permitted in the title line.

It is a pretty good rule of thumb that the OP sets the topic that the author wishes to discuss.

Reading before posting is usually a good idea too.

why not send a bunch to Israel and see how they screen flights.. Waits in line are not as long as here, and there has never been a terrorist attack... Here's a clue: Profiling..

While we need to be vigilant, I am torn over profiling. We must not ignore our values in the name of security. Technology is the answer, IMO, of which the full body scanners are an example.

The title line seems to be about 65 characters long. About 10 more than the previous sentence.
