I find her funny. Just because you do not does not mean she is not funny.

Dennis Miller was a comedian. He is now portrayed as a funny comentator. Jon Stewart is moving fast in this direction.

Since when do we have to dull down our opinions. All great speakers have stood strong on their opinions and have given them bluntly. Great speakers do not try to candy coat their opinions so they will be more palatable to everybody.

When I get a chance I will read the artical you referrance. I will also show you some over the top comments by great communicators like Winston Churchhill, Ronald Regan and Jesus. All of them offensive to some. All of them debated upon and disagreed with by some. And all of them rememberd for causing debate and discussion.

The fact that we are discussing comments by a person who has no political office no power and no influence, speaks to her effictive speaking abilitys.

How is this different from what Ann does. Miller has become a political pundit who uses humor and satire. That is what Ann is.

Good Lord. I have no idea.

As far as mixing humor with political commentary goes, Laura Ingram does a far better job of it, without being a jerk.

Ingram is probably as conservative as Martin, but handles herself with class. And that's coming from a Liberal.

Nevertheless, you are entitled to your opinion,

Um, you might want to wait until you read what she said. It's so vile, that I won't reproduce it, nor will I provide a link to it.

Ingraham is a pretty angry girl, eh ? Plus, she sees everything thru the prism of the catholic church.

But her friday soundbite contests are a riot.

BTW, you keep bringing up this Coulter thing, but yet when Al Franken swears and disparages folks, it's really no big deal ?

    Don't worry, I know why.

Nice try at misdirection, Bro. Curtis.
If you can provide us with any quote where Al Franken likened wishing someone a "merry Christmas" to what Ann Coulter did in that aforementioned article, then by all means share it with us. But the simple fact of the matter is that Ann Coulter made a very specific suggestion as to wishing people a "merry Christmas," didn't she? Remember: this is ANN COULTER, the author of Godless.

For you to claim that Al Franken has done anything similar to that is really intellectually dishonest. That is, unless you can show us where Al made a similar observation to Ann's.

    Regards anyway, Brother,
    BiR

By the way, since you listen to Rush Limbaugh:
Did you hear him right at the end of the first hour, before the hard break? He was talking about Hillary and her decision not to leave former President Clinton after his affair. He noted that "LIBERALS" don't view morality "the way you or I do." Imagine that: a thrice-divorced drug-addicted hedonist views morality just like we do.

On that point, Rush and I are in agreement: as a self-described LIBERAL, I don't view morality the same way he does - I believe morality is more than simply claiming the moral high ground.

I read the artical. That is what has you all in a bunch. I was waiting for her to say something really bad about somebody. She said the F word.

But that is not the whole story. She is making a point. She is saying that the phrase "merry Christmas" has become as offensive to people as saying the f word.

So BiR, I am happy you work and play in such an enviroment that the F word gets you this woked up. I live in a world where it is legal to kill unborn babies. Where kids are shooting each other. Excuse me if the f word is not as offensive to me as you. Besides the point that she is making a valid point by useing it.

BiR will you have that same reaction to liberals when I find quotes by them with the F word???????

I am glad it doesn't bother you.

She said that she liked to say precisely for that reason, doesn't she? What a great point from the author of Godless.

By all means, please show me where a liberal has used the word in this context with the phrase "merry Christmas" as a metaphor.

All this from the author of the book Godless.......

    Regards,
    BiR

He didn't use it as a metaphor for the phrase "Merry Christmas," did he?

You are twisting the meaning of what she was saying. She did not say Christmas is like the F word. She did not use the f word as a metaphor for Christmas.

She did not compair Christmas to the F word. That is how you are trying to make it sound.

She compaired peoples reactions to the phrase Merry Christmas to peoples reactions from the F word phrase. Is this true?

You may not like her language but her point is valid. Maybe not well put but valid.

Yeah, right. Now if you were not a Christian, what would you think?

She said that she just loved saying it, didn't she?

    Yeah, right.

Al Franken is a Christ denyer, a foul mouthed, unfunny washed up writer, a bitter old man. To say he's any better than Coulter is ignorant. Two sides of the same coin. The Christmas thing is played out, you should move on. And remember yer blasphemous "supply side Jesus" that Al the Christ denyer made up ? It seems to me like libbies can do no wrong in yer book, and conservatives can do no right.

Sounds like you pretty much nailed it.

When listening to or reading someone like Coulter, one has to remember that she makes a living off of outrageous statements. Pardon the example, but it's like froth on beer. It makes an appealing picture, but it doesn't mean much. Frankly, sometimes she cracks me up.

Liberals take themselves far too serious.

I can read, and I can read in context. The artical is very clear what she is talking about. Your hate for her is what is driving your misunderstanding.
