Good for them. Democrats think that if they start an investigation about nothing and issue subpoena's that somehow validates their false charges. This is a Democratic political witch hunt and is shameful the governor can fire anyone for any reason.

Wrong... This is why unions got started and many laws have been passed. The Governor can fire you but it has to be for the right reasons and it needs to follow warnings or attempts to correct the deficient behavior.

If there were nothing to this she wouldn't need all the high power attorneys and they wouldn't need to employ tactics like this. If this was a strait forward and justified as you imply they would rush the committee to find as they please then take it to the Alaskan supreme court or some other court. I don't know what they are but there seems to be legal sticky points that are making her lawyers hesitant to proceed.

I really hope the McCain campaign are just using Ms Palin. I really do but politics is a nasty world. I hope they don't delay these proceedings just to get McCain in office then throw her to the wolves so he can put his buddy Lieberman in the office. He owes Lieberman big. That would be cruel but on par for the Hill...

Hmmm, them Dems are tough ... convinced twice their number of Republicians to vote to investigate Palin.

Rev, you are really a closet liberal on quite a number of issues. Liberal in the sense you like to damn others about.

Be cautious CTB, as today new points are coming out in this story. We are a nation of media fanatics and all of us need to hold our breath on every story until all points are in the open or we end up with that yellow stuff on our face.

You are mistaken.

If not, I'm sure you won't mind pointing out the provision in the Alaska Constitution that prohibits the Governor from firing a political appointee.

I actually hope this goes to court. I'd love to see the American's faces when they find out what this stupid investigation costs them, and what kind of facts come out about the trooper & the commissioner.

From everything I've seen, Monegan richly deserved to be fired.

The Governor, to soften the blow, even offered him another position as head of the Alcohol Control Board. He refused.

The trooper tasered his own 10 YO stepson. He drank in his patrol car.

Please please please please please.................

Bring Sarah in on this. I dare you.

She has flip flopped even on this

At first we get this , I have nothing to hide and will fully cooperate, now it's how can we
delay, refuse, and attack the investigators.

Most Americans are taking notice of the flip flop.

as for the brother in law there is more to the story to those who seek fairness.

Source: CNN

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) -- The Alaska state trooper at the center of a probe into whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power says he has "made mistakes, and I've learned from those mistakes."

But in an exclusive interview with CNN, Mike Wooten, Palin's former brother-in-law, also denies some of the biggest allegations against him, including drinking while driving.

"I made mistakes. I fessed up to them. I was punished appropriately, and I'm moving on," said Wooten, 36, who went through a long, messy divorce and custody battle with Palin's sister.

...

He said that he was a new Taser instructor, and his stepson was asking him about the equipment. "I didn't shoot him with live, you know, actual live cartridge," Wooten said.

Instead, he said, he hooked his stepson up to a training aid "with little clips. And, you know, the Taser was activated for less than a second, which would be less than what you would get if you touched an electric fence. ... It was as safe as I could possibly make it."

He said his stepson was on the living room floor surrounded by pillows, that he "was bragging about it," and that the family laughed about it.

Asked whether it was a dumb decision, Wooten told CNN, "absolutely

Family? would that be Sarah Palins family? does this qualify him being a target of Sarah and Todd Palin? who must be wise and just leaders, it looks as if they were out to destroy his career because of a family fued that has nothing to do with fairness but based on emotions and why are they using government to persecute this man who makes mistakes, they should take him to court like any other citizen would do and not do the cloak and dagger.

I have a typo in this post. I think most of you knew that but I want to be clear.

This should be "I really hope the McCain campaign aren't just using Ms Palin. I really don't but politics is a nasty world. "

I would never hope for anyone to be used in a way I think they are using her and I pray for Sarah. She appears to be a pawn being used in a vicious game which she will become expendable if McCain gets in office. I pray I'm wrong.

Demonizing her hasn't worked, so now you want to make her a victim of the evil McCain.

From everything I seen and learned about this lady, she's nobody's patsy.

What's you next twist?
