No one will overturn Roe until Bush gets one or two more picks (which he may very well get), and the decision can be 8-1 or 7-2.

Like BROWN, this massive injustice needs to be overturned by a large vote, and there will be no effort to do so just yet.

    BiR,

I don't think the Supreme Court will overturn Roe v. Wade: it would usher in the end of the GOP as a political power. That is why it has not been overturned thus far.

You may be right, though I don't think it will be the voters on their own, but some media-generated or at least -fueled outrage. My hope is that by overturning Roe it will go back to the states for state electorates and legislatures to work out.

Taken with the whole discussion of the CAP, can you really trust him?

From watching the hearings last night and the ABA panel's discussion of that question, though, I feel comfortable enough that Alito did nothing wrong on Vanguard. As to CAP, the testimony is overwhelming and, except for the CAP question, unanimous and strong from what I saw as to Alito's fair-mindedness and non-discrimination.

I may try to call you from Atlanta tomorrow.

That would be great. I very much look forward to talking with you. My phone connection here in the office is tenuous but I'll get a voice mail and will call you back. Thanks.

Yes, that is what they all say, carpro. I am sure that, despite the fact that you very nearly reposted Rush's comments verbatim, your insight was original and the similarity is purely coincidental. I am always told that by those who do this.

Don't forget: I listen to him too......

That cartoon is perfect. Kenenedy did everything he could to look worse than bad.

I must say that all in all, this has been a good week of hearings from the limited amount I've seen. Alito, as one of the Senators pointed out yesterday, was much more forthcoming in his answers regarding judicial philosophy and the Constitution than John Roberts, often getting to the edge of propriety given the likelihood of such issues coming before the Court. The questions alone, even from the Democrats (except for the CAP and Vanguard stuff, for the most part) covered the gamut of a range of Constitutional issues that I wish more voters had seen.

So we have 2 supposedly Christian members who have more or less called me a liar with no proof whatsoever.

    BiR and Terry.

It's no surprise they are liberals.

No surprise at all. It seems BiR has an obsession with Rush and assumes just because he listens faithfully to the show we all do. [IMG]
