America Returned to her Roots tonight

    I wonder what kind of roots, would that be founders who were feeemasons, or founders who cut the bible up to remove the parts they didn't like?

    Amen to that!

    And children were taught the Bible right in the School House or the School House was held in Church! In fact, children learned how to read by reading the Bible. You really need to get your facts straight instead of the revised history version. America officially made the biggest diversion from her roots in this election.

    He's a typical Washington insider, who wants to get along more than lead. I don't think it's so out-of-bounds to say. He didn't show me any leadership skills.

Kennedy became president, he made a priority of changing U.S. policies towards Latin America, hoping to eliminate paternalism and exploitation from the U.S. stance toward the region. In March 1961, he proposed an Alliance for Progress to help create the political, social and economic framework for better living conditions in the hemisphere. If successful, the Alliance would prevent other Latin American states from following communist Cuba's example, falling under the influence of the Soviet Union.

    To your detractors...

    McCain was the lesser of two evils? Ok, true enough.

    But, Hebrews 12:4 chastised the believers for Not yet having resisted evil to the shedding your blood... And, here we had a chance to resist evil without out even risking a hang nail!

    And, even Jesus promoted buying sword(s) once: Luk 22:36-38

    As bad as McCain was, he was the only potentially winable resistor of evil we had...

    Sorry, resistance is not futile... But rather has been squandered...

    I think this is pure baloney! We're headed headlong into bigger government, more control in daily our lives, more restrictions on business, less competitive stature among nations, more special considerations and preferences for "diverse" groups, more taxes, less local control, more "change" of traditional beliefs into today's lies, and a lot more socialism. The strength of the republic has been greatly endangered by the weakness of democracy. It's a sad time but perhaps it will awake us enough to revolt at the next election.

    That would be the America that considered everyone to be created equal. Let me dig up that quote for you.

    We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

    Exactly what I'd expect from people who consider their politics as or more important than their Christian beliefs. You'll stand before God to explain why the Republican party is as important as His church to you.

    Why do I say that? How can you hope to witness to those who belong to "the other party?" Half of your outreach opportunities just vanished.

    You have set up a straw man argument here (a formal fallacy) in order to make it appear that your position is superior to that of those who oppose you.

    The error in your thinking is that when we go witnessing we must, for some unknown reason, discuss politics and thereby alienate half of the people we meet.

    The answer, which totally invalidates your line of argument, is that when witnessing we don't talk politics! Politics has nothing to do with sharing the gospel and all of our collective need for the Savior.

    It would be equally as foolish for me to state that you, as a liberal Democrat, could not possibly witness to a lost man that happens to be a wealthy conservative. It is nonsense.

    Matt Black, good point. Most of the decisions were local level decisions. However, the hate crime laws were not local decisions. But I admin that most of it was local.

    EDIT : I just realized that most of the issues I have been rambling about have been local level decisions. So I retract my comments made earlier as Obama being the end of the world. However, if federal versions of sb777 and other things are passed then my criticisms will hold. With more democrats in congress, Obama's ability to appoint 2 new judges, I would not be surprised if some of these things get passed at the federal level.(look at Roe v Wade, we already have a precedent for federal level rulings that are out of line with the views of the populace)

    The problem is you are using the Republican party as your defense of the Word of God. This ties the two together with the implication that Republican Party = Word of God or Word of God = Republican Party. If I vote Republican I am voting God or if I am of God I need to vote Republican. This just isn't so.

    I really liked the thread which said God is neither Republican or Democrat. That was a solid fact.
