An alternative to the "Left Behind" series..

Thanks for pointing this book out, Grasshopper. This is great, great news. My "to read" list is overflowing at the moment but I am thrilled to see a book series to counter the awful futurist theology of the "Left Behind" series.

 

I love the "Left Behind" series. I own all twelve books and recently started to read them again.

 

I guess whether or not a person liked left behind depends on their personal belief and understanding of end times.
Theres a book for anything anyone believes thats for sure.

 

How about the bible! That would be an alternative to the Left Behind nonsense

 

I am a dispensationalist and strongly disagree with the Left Behind stupidity. LaHaye was just looking to make a buck because no one was buying his stupid psychology books anymore.

 

I thought you believed in the Free Enterprise system. Is it now wrong to make money by writing books? People aren't forced to purchase them.

For myself, although I don't agree with everything written in this series, I do enjoy them as Christian fiction.

 

Thanks! Sigmund Brouwer, who is listed as one of the writers of this book, is one of my most favorite authors! He has some great books out there. Will have to get this one soon!

I am a dispensationalist

duh, sorry but my ignorance is showing. What is a dispensationalist? Does this belong in the debate section? I don't want to start a turf war or anything, I truly don't know that term.

Terry, he is legally allowed, but he is forbidden to make and distribute false theology. Unfortunately, it has made him much money and he won't quit. They already have their stupid little spin offs.

 

So, any theology that disagrees with your understanding of what the Scripture says is "false theology?"

 

Sigh, Terry, his book even betrays dispensationalism, which he claims to be. He is off the wall.

 

One's personal beliefs shouldn't matter. The Left Behind series is sheer fiction, regardless of one's personal beliefs. Good fiction, imo, but fiction nonetheless.

 

I sure enjoy reading them anyway!

 

I've been meaning to pick this book up but haven't had the chance.
