    Hello Everyone!
I've just finished an excellent book by Patrick Kavanaugh titled:"The Music of the Angels".

In it,Mr.Kavanaugh covers sacred musical history from chant to Christian Rock, offering listening recommendations at the end of each musical era covered as well as sidebars on the composers in each era. He also covers the development of hymnology and how the various denominations affected hymns and service music.

The afterword is really interesting as he offers some speculation on what directions and forms sacred music might take in the future.

Mr. Kavanaugh is a composer and conductor and leads the Christian Fellowship of Performing Artists http://www.christianperformingart.org/index.htm
And has written many other books such as: " The Spiritual Lives of the Great Composers,Raising Musical Kids,Music of the Great Composers, and Spiritual Moments with the Great Composers".

The book is an easy read and has a 26 page bibliography for those who want to read further.

It's a great book for all! [IMG]

    In Christ,

    Dale
