Anarchy in the GOP: The End of Authority in the Republican Party

Is this a real crisis?

The big message from Eric Cantor’s stunning primary loss isn’t about immigration or the Tea Party. It’s about the unprecedented crisis of authority in today’s GOP.

Think about it. Cantor’s boss, John Boehner is, according to Nancy Pelosi, “the weakest speaker in history.” Less than 50 percent of Republicans approve of his performance. Over the last two years, he has repeatedly retreated in the face of opposition from rank-and-file conservatives who treat him with barely disguised disdain. Until the defeat of Cantor, his most likely heir apparent, it was widely assumed that he would soon either step—or be pushed—aside soon.

Ya, I know it is off topic but it might even be that the voters did not want Cantor and they did want someone else.

What is your opinion on the topic?

If elected Brat will not be a leader. A freshman representative is never appointed to a party leadership office or role.

Not sure how much hay you can make with a premise that may not be valid ie there is leadership in the Republican party. They gave us McCrutch and Romney to vote for - where is the leadership in that?

"It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!" to quote a famous lady.

I think you have touched on a current problem in the GOP ... as was pointed out in the article.

First his winning the elections is about immigration. Second, it is irrational for the far left to try and create a false narrative like the op about a party they have nothing to do with. Third, it was irrational to post it.

It's almost like he's trying to obfuscate team zero's miserable failures, or something. He's most certainly not to be trusted to enter into any rational conversation about it.
