What grieves me about this is that 'Baptist Pope' seems to be 'joyful' about this, almost gloating over the sins and pains of others. If the 'sin' of one particular pastor spoils the whole denomination, then EVERY denomination's legitimacy is questionable! I think this post says MORE about 'Baptist Pope' than it does about anything else. Sad.

Baptist Pope/Born Again or whatever you want to call yourself, your brand of Christianity STINKS to high heaven.

Why don't you change your name to BAPTIST BIGOT, that would suit you much better, in fact drop the 'Baptist' I'd hate for anyone to think you were a typical Baptist. Make it BIGOT or even BORN AGAIN BIGOT, thats got a nice ring to it.

Instead of sitting there pointing the finger at me why don't you tell me how you deal with insufferable BIGOTS.

I have lived with bigotry all my life, growing up as a catholic in Northern Ireland I couldn't avoid it.

I know these people they never shut up about the sins of the RC church but they have no burden to see catholics saved. How could this man witness to a RC, he'd get a slap in the mouth. I live with the results of this bigotry, looking at my own family who are still catholics and have been put off Christians by people like Chris Lofton.

It would be one thing if this was an isolated incident but for some people this is the only face of true christianity they see. How do we bring these people to Christ?

Chris Lofton doesn't speak for me - I want catholics to be aware of this when they see this thread.

Sorry if any of these posts offend you but people like this bring out the worst in me but I know I shouldn't answer a fool according to his folly.

 

You would think that the RCC is the only church to have a problem with pedophiles. Nevermind all the American evangelical preachers who were nailed in the FBI stings. The pastoral office, in general, attracts sexual predators of all sorts because it places them in close intimate contact with people who are emotionally vulnerable.

Edna, my advise is to ignore him, he is a one note person. To be honest, I have to wonder why somebody would be as obsessed solely with the issue of pedophilia in the RCC. Quite frankly these adhoc attacks against the RCC have gotten old.

Thanks for the support, its nice to know there are genuine Christians around who are prepared to speak out against people like this.

Ignoring this type of thing isn't easy and I'm not sure it should be allowed to go unchallenged anyway.

I wonder about this too, I don't see any genuine concern for the abused so it can't be that.

By their fruits they will be known. A person acting in a true Christian light will be easily detected regardless of the religious denomination they support.

One note of interest....this is part of a Baptist forum....I find it interesting I haven't seen (at least not using the "handle" used here) this guy on a Catholic forum. There are very few Catholics actually here and if this type of venom will eventually make us all leave....which of course could be the objective.

Hmmmm wonder who he will decide to attack then?

That is an interesting name... Seeing that the Baptist have no Pope... I'm Baptist also... A Primitive Baptist... And what I really can't understand is why attack the Catholic people?... Do they run the R.C.C.?... I would say that the Catholic who is true to his belief is appauled and grief stricken about these events.

To say anything else is to be unchristian and mean? Can you the Baptist Pope say that these worshippers are not Gods children? Will the Bible back up what you say?... Was not the Israelites worshipping in error at times... Yet they were still Gods children?... Personally I feel you have an axe to grind... Are there any priests on here maybe you and him can have a private debate?

Like I said I'm a Primitive Baptist and while I don't agree with the Catholics in a doctrinal sense they have the right to their belief. I can't imagine what they are feeling like now but my prayers and heart goes out to those who worship God and his Son Jesus Christ in their own manner. The Baptist don't have a pope...
