I see they enhanced the color imaging in DT's photo to fit their narrative.

CNN, they lost their chance to have me believe anything they broadcast long ago.

I wonder if folk will help me with reference to Donald Trump.
There is a lady from Boston way with whom I occasionally exchange emails. She is very angry with Trump to the extent that she no longer goes to church because she believes that all evangelicals support Trump. This is her last email to me. Living 3,000 miles away, I don't know whether all or any of these allegations are true, but at least some of them seem to be. Help me out, someone; why is Trump so popular with Bible-believing Christians?
This is what she wrote to me:-

"Do you know what really gets me upset about supposedly professed Christians (not you of course, but this pastor)? It’s their hypocrisy! This is why their words have no value to non-Christians (and other Christians!). They just can’t get past their hypocrisy and no one could ever take their words seriously. And I say this as a Christian, who has been to many churches with hypocrite pastors!

Why is it that these American Christians, like this pastor would be willing to look past Trump’s blatant immorality?! Here’s just a few of them:

    • Married 3 times (even slept with a porn star while his 3rd wife tend to their newly born baby).
    • For decades slept with prostitutes and porn stars. Always hanged around playboy events for years and he wasn’t there just for the food. He also likes to hang around pageants so that he can inappropriately touch these young girls. The man is a serial adulterer!
    • Trump avoided serving in the armed forces during the Vietnam war by getting a doctor to falsify his medical records stating that he had bone spurs.
    • Trump stated (on a radio show) that his own Vietnam was avoiding Sexually Transmitted Diseases.
    • Ripped off majority of contractors he hired (e.g. never paid them) and did this for years (I grew up in the NYC area and this was a common occurrence with Trump).
    • A civil law suit found Trump’s company guilty of fraud (falsified taxes, loans docs, etc).
    • A judge found him to be an adjudicated RAPIST!
    • A court found him GUILTY on 34 counts for falsifying business records and breaking campaign laws!
    • Incited an insurrection on our government because he was a sore loser!
    • If your pastor friend wants to promote traditional values — well among our oldest traditions here in this country is the peaceful transfer of power! Sadly, Harris’ opponent doesn’t abide by that! No, Trump abides to bullying and violence by mob, to get into power.
    • Stolen top secret documents that belonged to the government, stored them in unsecured rooms (where our enemies can easily gain access to) and refused to return them (some are still not returned to the government). Trump willfully obstructed the investigators and ignored subpoenas in attempts for the govt to acquire back their documents.
    • Praises dictators all over the world and has often publicly stated about being a dictator himself if he gets back to the White House (seriously who is only going to be a dictator for only one day; no, he’ll be a dictator for as long as he can).
    • Called our soldiers “losers" and “suckers” according to his Chief Of Staff, who also lost a son in Afghanistan.
    • Did not publicly condemn racist groups in Charlottesville and stated that there were “good people on both sides”, where the racist side chanted “Jews will not replace us” and “blood and soil” (which is Nazi slogan chant). And a girl was killed during that event when a racist ran over those protesting against the racist group.
    • Called immigrants “animals” and “vermin”. He even stated that they are ‘poisoning the blood of our country’. Trump’s targeting of immigrants has nothing to do with illegality. He just simply hates immigrants, specifically from non-white countries (like Africa or Asia). During his administration, when it came time to discuss the quotas of legal immigration from various countries, Trump complained about the quotas coming from non-white countries — of which he called “shit-hole countries”. Instead he insisted on getting immigrants from Norway (predominantly white).
    • Called COVID-19, the "kung-flu virus" or "Chinese virus" to target the Asian community for hate. His administration tried to get him to call it by it’s scientific name (COVID-19) to avoid the potential repercussions on the Asian community, but Trump wouldn’t listen. Since his statements, hate crimes against Asians have risen; many have suffered injuries and some have died.
    • Trump had to settle in a lawsuit for discriminated black people from renting his apartments. You don’t settle unless you’re guilty of it (especially for a man who repeatedly claims he never settles lawsuits)!

In fact most of his devout supporters will never speak of the above troubling history (or some will even defend it), while they go and denigrate his opponent who had never done these immoral and illegal things! The man is a career criminal!

Usually, it takes me too long to list his public immoral/illegal history and would just like to summarize that Trump is a narcissistic, xenophobic, misogynistic, racist, demagoguery bigot.

Is that someone a Christian can support? Should we should just overlook most of his troubling behavior?! Here’s a better question to ask this pastor — would you hire someone like Trump at your work place or to watch over your kids (especially your teenage daughters)? The answer would be NO! No sound person would! So why would you hire him for the White House — a job of greater responsibility!

I just want to highlight exactly what Trump’s former Chief Of Staff, retired General John Kelly said on the record — someone who actually worked with Trump — about Trump:

"A person that thinks those who defend their country in uniform, or are shot down or seriously wounded in combat, or spend years being tortured as POWs are all ‘suckers’ because ‘there is nothing in it for them.’ A person that did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because ‘it doesn’t look good for me.’ A person who demonstrated open contempt for a Gold Star family – for all Gold Star families – on TV during the 2016 campaign, and rants that our most precious heroes who gave their lives in America’s defense are ‘losers’ and wouldn’t visit their graves in France.”

“A person who is not truthful regarding his position on the protection of unborn life, on women, on minorities, on evangelical Christians, on Jews, on working men and women,” Kelly continued. “A person that has no idea what America stands for and has no idea what America is all about. A person who cavalierly suggests that a selfless warrior who has served his country for 40 years in peacetime and war should lose his life for treason – in expectation that someone will take action. A person who admires autocrats and murderous dictators. A person that has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law.

“There is nothing more that can be said,” Kelly concluded. “God help us.”

A lot of it has to do with a toxic brew of mixing religion with carnal politics.

You might be interested in this article:

' Republican primary voters still overwhelmingly chose Trump.

This has frustrated a minority of conservative evangelicals who see Trump as an unrepentant poser, using the Bible and prayer sessions for photo props. They see him as lacking real faith and facing credible, serious misconduct allegations while campaigning with incendiary rhetoric and authoritarian ambitions.

Karen Swallow Prior, a Christian author and literary scholar who has spoken against fellow evangelicals’ embrace of Trump, said this support in 2024 is familiar but “intensified.”

In the past, she said Trump supporters hoped but weren’t certain that Trump shared their Christian faith.

“Now his supporters believe themselves,” she said. “Despite the fact that Trump clearly wavers on abortion and he wavers on LGBTQ issues, those things are just ignored, they’re just erased out of the narrative.” '

    - rest of article at Jesus is their savior, Trump is their candidate. Ex-president's backers say he shares faith, values

Was King David any less a sinner as Trump.

How old was David when David committed adultery with Bathsheba and had Uriah murdered?

Thou art the man. Did David not already know he had done wrong? After all David was a man after God's heart.
