So, how's church life going? Anything new and exciting (don't even think about saying it) happening lately? New programs, new music, anything apart from the norm?

Ha! Let's talk fondue... The new thing in "Christian fellowship" here is fondue parties. What's up with that? I've been there and done that way back yonder in the 70's and it was pretty lame then. I can't think it's something that has improved with age and experience.

I'll tell you what I really think about fondue. I think it's anorexic city folk's pathetic excuse for hot dogs and marshmallows roasted over a campfire. Live a little and build a campfire, guys! The food will cook lot faster and a whole lot more of it will cook at once. The conversations will be better..... and you can sing without looking stupid.

    Fondue??!!
Yuck. You have to prepare each bite of food.

I go in the kitchen and cook, when the foods done I'm done working, now we can sit down and eat and talk.
    Fondue!

I just had a completely horrible image of a bunch of people sitting around fondue contained in crock pots wearing suits and jean jumpers, all holding their sticks of toast over the fondue and singing kom-by-yah or however it's spelled!

Hey, I know...headcoverings! or modest dress...oooo, we could really kick it off with some good ol'fashion hair-pulling, skirt snatching, KJBible-thumping, frolicking good time, eh?

    Granny's teasing y'all; sorry, couldn't resist...hey, it's waaay past my bedtime! [IMG]

I can settle it all in 3 words.

    Twelve inch rule. [IMG]

If the dress is more than twelve inches from the floor don't wear it.

If the hair is more than twelve inches long cover it.

If there's gonna be any skirt-snatching the male must be at least 12 inches from the female at all times.

If there's bible-thumpin' going on the bible better be black and at least 12 inches tall.

If you don't like what I have to say the X button is 12 inches from your face.

Or I could always just do an imitation of the pastor at my old church. I STILL laugh when I recall his sermon that could ONLY be properly titled "Jesus din't get no free breakfastessess!" Loved that man, but there was no questioning that he came from Georgia!

HOW 'BOUT WE KEEP GINA 12 FEET FROM HER COMPUTER!

    All in favor, say "Aye".

    All opposed, say, "No".

Well we all know that the eyes are above the nose!

Sue's getting a perm. Do you think she'll be sorry?

I'm trying to lose 10 pounds and it won't come off!

Sunday is Helen's birthday but we can't remember if she's 13 or 14.

I got a perm that messed up once and made me look like a poodle IMO. Mine always used to cost around $100 because of the length, so I was in tears. I put out that much money, they can at least make me look like my own species!

That's right about Helen, it's leap year! And what better day for a birthday than Sunday? [IMG]

Yeah, Diane knows a REAL issue when she sees it!

    Here another one:

I am in such need of a haircut, but I don't know when I am going to be able to get it done. Before too long, it will break Gina's 12 inch rule, and I'll have to cover it. Which would probably be a big improvement anyway because it is going every which way but where it should. What should I do?

I always observed the 12-inch rule when dating in Bible College.

12-inches overlapping whenever we could!

I lost ten pounds and it's freaking my mom out (she's in AL and can't fatten me up). I switched to healthy snacks and eat all day and the pounds are falling off. My mom says I should eat more pizza...LOL

The girls dad is diabetic and lost 45 pounds simply because of the diet change to less sugar. Gonna have to try that myself! I've always had a sweet tooth, but it didn't catch up to me until I had kids! I blamed them, but now that the youngest is 7 and I gained 30 MORE pounds since she was born, that's no longer an excuse.
Now that the weather is changing, plan on getting a lot more exercise and on top of that cutting down on sugary drinks. Will be easier in hot weather because one of my downfalls this winter has been hot chocolate and hot tea with sugar and milk.

I'm a pretty healthy eater, Kim, but I sit around too much in the winter and drink so much soda now that I'm working part time. The job I have is in a store that has 'booths'. We have a 'booth' that's used as an interview office for professional Nannies, one that's used for telemarketing calls for a man who films weddings, etc, one booth for a woman who sells medical uniforms but most of her work is done on the phone and she ships from another location and one booth is very expensive blinds that are remote controlled. I sit up front and sell corn burning stoves and grills. I sell one or two a week and if someone comes in.... or calls.... but they really don't. Some days I see not one person all day. Just stare out the big glass windows at a train track! So, I spend my time watching Finding Nemo and chatting on Baptist Board while drinking Pepsi! I'm 130 lbs and truthfully, 115-119 should be my max.
